I have learned so much from the media course

regarding technology. After being thrown into the deepend, as we were given a crash course in Adobe premier pro, as well as using camera equipment, it was all a learn as you go process. This does not deduct from the fantastic experience and expertise I gained as a result.

Adobe is a difficult to use programme. Much of it was hit and go and hope for

the best. Although I learned much more through using it rather than being taught by a Upper Sixth student.

Although I am somewhat familiar with other editing programmes such as Song Vegas Pro as well as IMovie; the editing wasn’t as daunting as it seemed after all.

This biggest triumph was making the movie seem fluent through the editing and not like an amateur film (which it is). After watching many other movie intros such as Minority Report, Memento, Birds, etc… I found you only include what’s wanted and nothing more. (Seemingly obvious) This meant cutting scenes down extremely short.

Using adjustment layers also was a learning experience, as it made allowed us as editors to adjust the lighting. Due to filming in certain lights necessary for our plot was difficult, adjustment layers allowed us to edit the scene to make it seem as if the lighting was either light or dark. It also allowed us as a group to create a darker tone, to affect the mise-en-scene of the piece to represent something dark, corrupt and psychological.

The picture above is the camera my group used to film our film “Noceur”.

It’s an extremely potent piece of technology, with both it’s advantages and disadvantages.

After many attempts. We figured out how to record on the blasted contraption. The red button beside the screen. A silly mistake, however we learned from our mistakes and made our opening in the end. However after many attempts to get the still shots we needed, however with little result, we had to acquire a tripod. This made our capturing so much more effective.

However, finding the correct setting was extremely difficult. With a little spindle as you can see on the picture. (left from the Nikon logo) This decided the format for capturing film. We resorted to the internet and found what the individual symbols meant and used it to our advantage. In the end, it produced a fantastic piece of film. We were thoroughly proud of the contraption, regardless of the effort needed to comprehend its difficult existance.
