Starting Middle School Is A Big Step! Sad. It can be difficult if you arent in the same classes with some of your old friends. But it gives you a chance to make new friends!It means youre getting older, so it is ok to feel:Excited!!! There is a lot to look forward to.Nervous. Starting middle school can be a little scary. Dont worry lots of other kids will be feeling nervous, TOO

How Is Middle School Different?Different classes. You will go to a different classroom for each subject...So youll need to learn where each class is. You will have 5 minutes between each class period, which is plenty of time.

Dont worry.you can be a few minutes late the first few days of school until you learn your way!How Else Is Middle School Different?New rules. Read your handbook and follow the rules which are similar to ours.

Good Friendships Vs. Peer PressureNegative peer pressure is when people try to get you to do things you dont want to because you know they may be wrong. At times you may feel pressure to:

1. Cheat! Classmates may try to pressure you to see your work. Cheating will not help them in the long run and may get BOTH of you in trouble.

2. Skip school or cut class! Classmates may try to pressure you to cut class. Remember that teachers have lists of every student in the class and cutting class will result in BOTH of you getting in trouble.

You have goals in your life. Dont let anything get in your way.
