GETTING READY TO START P.042012 IN LONDON

Dear Friends,

I have been lifting you up before the Lord over the last number of weeks. Psalm 103:17 says the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear Him and His salvation extends to you and your children. My prayer has been that you would know the love of the Lord over you life and your family during what are uncertain times being rolled out around the world.

As I was sitting here pondering your partnership in the gospel, I realized that this will be my last letter from Claisebrook Road, our operating location over the last eleven years in Perth. The new property is close to completion and we should be moved in by the end of 2011. God has been speaking to me about what position we must take as His children to enter and occupy a place dedicated for His purposes. God has so much to say about this in His word.

The leadership team of YWAM Perth recently completed 40 days of prayer in preparation. This prayer meeting grew until all staff and students joined. God began to speak about holiness, purity, heart attitude, and unity as essential ways of God in inheritance. On the last night of prayer and worship, hundreds were gathered and God began to speak about the future. Different visions and ministry expressions where laid on different individuals’ hearts and they were lining up waiting for their opportunity to declare what God had revealed to them.

As each person shared, I was amazed at God’s specific design and call on each person’s life. I was also very excited imagining how the obedience of one life would translate into changed lives in communities and nations! There’s a new wave of missionaries emerging with a clear understanding of their God-given purpose and they are deeply passionate about it.

Many of these vision statements were made by students currently in training, young YWAMers available to dedicate themselves to the purposes of God. This was all in connection to entering and occupying property which is a first for YWAM Perth!

At the end of 40 days of prayer, it was clear to me that God was indeed raising up a new generation who would embrace the command of Mark 16:15 and take it further. Thank you for being a part of this movement. It is a privilege to partner with you for his Glory.

With deep gratitude, Peter and Shirley Brownhill

getting ready to moveWe’re in the final stretch of our redevelopment now

and 9 Robertson St. is a hive of activity! The scaffolding

around the perimetre of the building is coming down. The

internal walls are in place. In the next few weeks, large

glass panels will be installed into the front of the building,

and the landscaping will begin.

After almost 12 months of construction, we stand amazed at God’s continual provision and timing

in bringing all of the consultants, engineers, and sub-

contractors together to complete the job. As we are in

the last two months of construction, we can see the end

in sight. At our Gladstone Street properties, we have

been blessed by YWAM volunteers and mission builders

(short-term volunteers from outside of YWAM) who

are contributing much time and expertise to see these

warehouses redeveloped into training and office space.

Please continue to stand with us in prayer for

finances and the progress of our redevelopment projects

here. Our desire is to see this phase of our redevelopment

completed before the end of the year. Thank you for your

partnership in seeing God’s platform for the multiplication of missionaries expand greatly here at YWAM Perth.

getting ready to startA rare t ime has come upon London, the capital of the

United Kingdom. With the Olympics coming next year,

at tention has already begun to focus on one of the

most inf luential cit ies in the world. A more intense need

has been highlighted through this year’s riots, putting a spotlight on not just the opportunity, but the dire need for transformation at a grassroots level.

London is a city of global influence with a dist inctive

heritage and vibrant culture. The city has a rich history

of Christ ianity and missions, but like many Western

cit ies, this waned during the last century. Today there

are great, unique challenges on its streets and in its

homes. There are large sections of London with lit t le

Christ ian

influence with many other religious

persuasions taking root. God longs for this great city to

return to God’s ways.

With the invitat ion of local believers, Megacities has committed to London as our focus city in 2012. From March 2010 through February 2011, Megacit ies

saw over 1,000 shor t-term missionaries from every

continent come to work side by side with hundreds of

local churches in Mexico City. We are praying for that

many, if not more, to come in teams to London star t ing

in January 2012.

Megacit ies has received a strong welcome from the Body of Christ in London. Many denominations,

ministries and organizations are thrilled that Megacit ies

is coming. They are excited to have people that want to

help carry the load in strengthening what they are already

doing and par tnering together for the new init iat ives .

The harvest is plentiful in London but, in most cases,

workers are few and get t ing fewer.

Hundreds of nationalities call London home, and

more than 300 languages are spoken in this diverse,

changing capital. Ar t, spor t, music, drama and

celebration thrive in this city that buzzes day and

night. Many people live in rough neighbors and huge

government funded estates, while across town others

live in at tractive, expensive communit ies. Ministry

oppor tunit ies are incredibly diverse. Mercy ministry,

prayer and intercession, evangelism, construction,

per forming ar ts, music ministry, teaching, training,

youth ministry, worship and everything in between are

all needed. Megacit ies is building a growing network

of relat ionships with churches, street ministries and

government contacts. This allows us to place teams into

regions of the city where they can best serve with their

unique gif t ings and calling.

Many have already partnered with Megacities previously

in cities such as Hyderabad, India, Durban, South Africa,

Cairo, Egypt, Jakarta, Indonesia and most recently

Mexico City. God has used these teams to see salvations,

miraculous healings and lasting change. Teams from all over the world have served as a catalyst for

transformation. Now we have a new opportunity to spur

transformation in one of the most influential cities in the world.

All teams are welcome: church teams, university

groups, YWAM school outreaches or staf f teams, other

missions organizations or individuals who want to join

an exist ing team. There is no set t ime frame for an

outreach. You can come anytime from January until

December 2012. Come for 1 week, 2 months or longer.

We need your prayer and we need you!

PERTH“We recently picked up ministry in

brothels in the city. The openness and the relationships we are building with the madams and the girls has been truly amazing. At one par t icular

brothel I met a girl who has been

working there for years. At f irst she was

more reserved but the second time we

met in the brothel, we spoke for over

an hour. She was still reserved, but she

did say she would like to meet up for

cof fee. I gave her the book ‘Redeeming

Love’ to read. God moved instantly when we met for coffee! She had

read the entire book in one af ternoon,

and as we sat there for hours she

shared her entire story with tear- f illed

eyes. She couldn’t explain why she

wanted to meet with me. It was the f irst

t ime she had ever mixed her personal

life with her work life. I knew it was

only through God. God definitely moved

in that conversation and we continue

to believe for more relationships to be

built, and for God to bring healing and restoration in the lives of many of these women.” Denise Tadros, Australia, YWAM Perth staff

WESTERN AUSTRAL IA“During our t ime in the Kimberleys, we

had many oppor tunit ies to work with

Indigenous children. On one occasion

in the Mowanjum community near

Derby, we had spent the morning with

the kids at the oval playing games

and singing songs. As we sat in a

circle, I asked them if they knew about

Jesus, and so proceeded to share

the gospel with them. Thir teen of the

seventeen children decided to invite

Jesus into their hear ts. This was my

first experience of personally sharing

the gospel and then leading people in a

prayer of salvation. Praise God!”

AS IA“Our f irst Chinese missionary team

was sent out in January into Nepal as

an of fshoot from our long-term China

work. Af ter only being there for 7

months they were already able to see

two churches star ted in two dif ferent

villages! The women are working with

children and mothers teaching basic

hygiene and sanitat ion. They are all st ill

learning Nepali but yet are commit ted

to sharing the Gospel wherever a crowd

gathers! More workers were joining in

July to begin work in a new location a

few hours away. We are excited for how

God is moving and how His church is

growing in Nepal !”

DENMARK“In Denmark we did a lot of evangelism

and it was just really awesome to get

to meet people and continue to have

relationship with them after a random

conversation on the street. I met one

guy when we were out praying for

people and through that conversation we

became friends. I was able to input into

his life and have some great fellowship

with him. He came to church on the last

week we were there and was very keen

on getting involved. It was just so good

to see the impact we can have on a

person’s life by just taking out time to get

to know them and invest into their lives.”

MOZAMBIQUE“During a small group at the simple

health care seminar we were running,

Alfredo, our translator and one of the

seminar students said how he was so

happy to be learning such things as

anaemia recognition and prevention.

He said, “People just don’t have this information. They don’t know what to do when people are sick. Even just the

teaching you did in the primary schools

about hand washing is important. Simple

things I don’t even think about that could

save lives. It makes the responsibility

we have even bigger to pass on the

information we’ve learned to our

communities in order to see them come

to understand and prevent disease.”
