Wembley, Central London

Orientation of WembleyWembley is an area of northwest London, England, and part of the London Borough of Brent. The prime landmark is Wembley Stadium, rebuilt 2003-2007 at a cost of £827 million, which is approached via the White Horse Bridge designed by the London Eye architects. Nearby are Wembley Arena, a concert venue built in 1934 as the Empire Pool, a swimming pool for the Empire Games, and Fountain Studios, one of the country's largest purpose built television studios and host to X Factor, Bremner, Bird and Fortune and Britain's Got Talent. Brent Town Hall is a Grade-2-listed building located on Barn Hill facing Wembley Stadium; its future is uncertain due to plans to move the town hall function, including council chamber, to a new civic centre as part of the Wembley redevelopment. St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in the centre of Wembley was built in 1904, designed by Thomas Collcutt and Stanley Hemp. Construction was of brick and the design was influenced by the Arts and Crafts Movement. It was listed as a Grade II building in 1993. The church was converted into the Central Mosque Wembley in the late 1990s.

On Day 1 you will head on a walking tour of Wembley where you will view the main landmarks and learn more about the history of Wembley and how it has development into the Landmark that it is today.

This is the place to visit - a must see in London! Lots of hands-on exhibitions, great for teenagers, you could spend a lot of time in here!! Very interesting collection and exhibits. Planes, trains and automobiles, and space rockets too, including the Apollo 10 command module!!

There are lots of 3D simulators to test out – hours of fun!!! Even if you don’t like Science you will enjoy this museum!!!

Explore GreenwichGreenwich is a World Heritage Site and home of Greenwich Mean Time and the Meridian Line. Greenwich’s famous landmarks include Cutty Sark, the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory, and Sir Christopher Wren’s Old Royal Naval College. You will be brought on a walking tour of this well known Heritage Site.

During your visit to Greenwich you will visit the National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory.

The National Maritime Museum  is the leading maritime museum of the United Kingdom and may be the largest museum of its kind in the world. Discover 500 years of Britain's encounter with the world at sea. Hear the personal stories of our island nation in Voyagers. See the uniform Nelson was wearing when he was shot at the Battle of Trafalgar, fire a cannon and steer a ship into port.

The Royal Observatory Greenwich is the home of Greenwich Mean Time and the Prime Meridian of the World. It is also home to London's only planetarium, the Harrison timekeepers and the UK's largest refracting telescope.

London City Shopping

The heart of London shopping, bustling Oxford Street has more than 300 shops, designer outlets and landmark stores. Home to the legendary Selfridges, it also boasts a range of famous department stores such as John Lewis and Debenhams scattered among every well-known high street chain imaginable. Hate the crowds? Slip into a side street and it's pretty easy to leave the hoards behind. Check out St Christopher's Place and Berwick Street for some real treats.

Whether you've got money to burn and want to splash out on the very best in designer clothes, or just love luxury window shopping, Bond Street and Mayfair are the ideal places to go for some extravagant retail therapy. Popular with celebrities on a spree, this is probably London's most exclusive shopping area, home to big names including Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. Neighbouring South Molton Street boasts iconic fashion store, Browns.

The British Museum is a museum in London dedicated to human history and culture. Its permanent collection, numbering some eight million works, is amongst the largest and most comprehensive in existence and originates from all continents, illustrating and documenting the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present.

You will be Introduced to the history, purpose and collection of the British Museum by experienced language teachers. This is followed by a tour including the Great Court, Enlightenment Gallery, Egyptian and Assyrian Sculpture Galleries and the Parthenon Gallery.

Full Day Trip to BrightonVibrant, colourful and creative, this is Brighton.

Brighton is one of the most cultural cities in Europe. Oozing creativity and cultural kudos from every pore, Brighton entertainment offers a hotbed of Festivals, galleries, museums, film, nightlife, comedy and theatre. Stroll though Brighton and discover this vibrancy for yourself by visiting Brighton Pier and the many Parks that surround it.

During your visit you will get the opportunity to visit the Pavillion Palace. The spectacular seaside palace of the Prince Regent (George IV) transformed by John Nash between 1815 and 1822 into one of the most dazzling and exotic buildings in the British Isles.  The Pavilion houses furniture and works of art including original pieces lent by HM The Queen and a magnificent display of Regency silver-gilt. The Royal Pavilion Tearoom, with its fabulous balcony, overlooks the Pavilion gardens, which have also been returned to their original Regency splendour.  Pavilion Shop.

Visit to Covent Garden Being in a shopping mood in Covent Garden is a tangible buzz.

It's common knowledge that there is a vibrance in the air. Many things to buy you can only get here. The architectural grandeur of central London is reflected in pure class and quality that's abundant in this region. This is the margin of value over price. This area is also quaint - There are still little shops, market traders and a selection of beautiful small boutiques. It is unusual if you didn’t see any street musicians or performers during your visit to Covent Garden!!!

Tate Modern Museum

The Tate Modern Museum holds the national collection of British art from 1500 to the present day and international modern and contemporary art. You will take a self-guided tour of the museum and explore the variety of exhibitions that are on display as well taking part in interactive games and watching short films from all of the artists involved

Camden Market London’s Favourite Market

Camden Market is one of London's most popular tourist attractions, offering fashion and crafts; a mix of people and foods from every corner of the world. The area has been made famous by films such as 'Withnail & I', pop icons 'Madness' & Oasis, and historic writers such as George Orwell, Mary Shelley and Charles Dickens. It’s definitely worth a visit!!!

"Elementary, My Dear Watson!"

Sherlock Holmes and Doctor John H. Watson lived at 221b Baker Street between 1881-1904, according to the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The house is protected by the government due to its "special architectural and historical interest", while the 1st floor study overlooking Baker Street is still faithfully maintained for posterity as it was kept in Victorian Times.

Step back in time, and when you visit London, remember to visit The World's Most Famous Address - 221b Baker Street - the Official Home of Sherlock Holmes! It is open as a museum dedicated to the life and times of Sherlock Holmes, and the interior has been faithfully maintained for posterity exactly as described in the published stories.

The Natural History Museum is one of three large museums on Exhibition Road, South Kensington (the others are the Science Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum).  A center of scientific excellence in the discovery of taxonomy and biodiversity, this world-famous museum promotes the discovery and enjoyment of the natural world through such exciting exhibits as the Life and Earth Galleries, wildlife garden and geological collections. The museum is particularly famous for its exhibition of dinosaur skeletons, and ornate architecture — sometimes dubbed a cathedral of nature — both exemplified by the large Skeleton which dominates the vaulted central hall.

Full Day Trip To CambridgeHome to the world famous University, Cambridge is a compact cosmopolitan city with outstanding architecture, both old and new. The beauty of its ancient centre is preserved with its walkable medieval streets, college courts, gardens and bridges. After a walking tour of the city, students will visit the Fitzwilliam Museum and afterwards can be taken punting on the river Cam (extra cost), or to King’s College to see where the best minds in the world studied!
