Literacy - Reading

Literacy - Writing• We try and write everyday!

• Family Letters

• Insect Reports for informative writing

• Journaling and free writing opportunities for narrative writing

• Specific writing activities each month

Spelling• Spelling tests and the pretest for the following week will be

administered every THURSDAY

• 15 words

• Three different spelling lists to differentiate for students.

• Letter reversals and capitals are marked wrong.

• Letter reversals are one point off.

• Capitals are 1/2 point off.

• Word work is done at school.

• Please practice spelling words at home!

• Graded tests, pretests, and next week’s list will be sent home on Fridays
