You have forgiven us and loved us. We receive this gift with gratitude, joy andawe. For the sake of Christ we pray.

*THE APOSTLES’ CREEDI BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the VirginMary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the thirdday he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God theFather Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness ofsins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

SCRIPTURE Joshua 1:1-11After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying, 2 “My servant Moses is dead. Now proceed to cross the Jordan, you and all this people, into theland that I am giving to them, to the Israelites. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon Ihave given to you, as I promised to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and the Lebanon as far as the great river,

the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, to the Great Sea in the west shall be your territory. 5 No oneshall be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I willnot fail you or forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous; for you shall put this people in possession of theland that I swore to their ancestors to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, being careful toact in accordance with all the law that my servant Moses commanded you; do not turn from it to the righthand or to the left, so that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 This book of the law shall not departout of your mouth; you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to act in accordancewith all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall besuccessful. 9 I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for theLord your God is with you wherever you go.” 10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, 11“Passthrough the camp, and command the people: ‘Prepare your provisions; for in three days you are to crossover the Jordan, to go in to take possession of the land that the Lord your God gives you to possess.’”This is the Word of the Lord! Thanks be to God!

SERMON Here Comes the Future: The Lord Is With Us Pastor Rosalind

*HYMN OF DISCIPLESHIP #361 How Firm A FoundationPresented by Kelley Hart and Steve Parker

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,Is laid for your faith in God’s excellent Word! What more can be said than to you God hath said,To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?

“Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed,For I am thy God, and will still give thee aid;I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.

“When through the deep waters I call thee to go,The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow; For I will be near thee, thy troubles to bless,And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

“When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie,My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply; The flame shall not hurt thee; I only designThy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.

“The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose,I will not, I will not desert to its foes; That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake.I’ll never, no, never, no, never forsake.”
