skills needed to progress to fourth grade.

grade are: Spalding English & Language Arts in line with Common

Core Standards Writing & Oral Recitations Saxon Math & Common Core Standards Science Social Studies

Spalding Cursive writing is expected in third grade

We will practice for the first few weeks of the year; after that, everything is to be written in cursive.

We will enter 30 words in our Spalding notebook each week.

We will test on these 30 words the following Thursday.

Classroom Community Our classroom is a community. In our community, we

have rules to help us get along with each other. Our class rules are:

Be respectful and responsible. Be an attentive listener.

Grade Level expectations are: Be organized and follow directions. Be prepared.

Homework Homework will be assigned every night,

Monday thru Thursday. Spelling Math Lesson One of the following skills:

Grammar/Reading Comprehension/Writing

Reading for 20 minutes

Your homework packet is due the following morning.

Incomplete homework has a consequence and can affect the overall homework grade.

Tardiness School starts at 8:10 A.M. We set the stage for our day as soon as

we arrive, please be here on time! The first bell rings at 8:05; if you aren’t in

the classroom by the time the second bell rings, please make sure you sign in at the school office and get a tardy pass before coming to class.
