Classroom ProceduresEntering the Classroom- Walk quietly into the classroom.
Morning Work – This is quiet time. Students need to complete the work that is placed on their desk.
Coming to Attention- When your attention is needed I will clap in a sequence, then the students will repeat my clapping,get quiet and will face me to listen for directions.
When a School Announcement is Made- All students will stop, regardless of what is going on in the classroom and will listen to the announcement being made.
Asking a Question- Student will raise their hand and wait to be called upon.
Using the Bathroom- When students need to use the bathroom they will need to get permission and then will take a pass, and walk to the bathrooms.
Getting a Drink- Students will need to raise their hand and ask for permission to get a drink. If students have a water bottle in their lunch bag they may walk to the back of the room and get a drink if direct instruction is not taking place. If they need to go outside to get a drink this needs to take place during recess and lunch.
Classroom Procedures Cont.Walking through the Hallways- We will have 2 lines. A boy line and a girl line. The line leaders will lead us quietly through the hallways. There should be no talking during this time.
When Someone Enters the Classroom- Students will stand up and greet our visitor together with good morning Mr./Mrs.__________ or Good afternoon Mr./Mrs. __________________.
If you need Help- Raise your hand and quietly wait for me to come and help you. If I am assisting another student or working with a group of students, quietly ask your neighbor for help. Don’t just sit there and wait on me.
Classroom Library- Just like the school library, this is a place to read not play. Minimum to no talking should take place in the library.
Names on the Top of Your Papers- The first thing you need to do when you receive a paper is put your name and number on the top.
Dismissal- You will be called by table to line up once you are packed up and your area is cleaned up. We will walk outside through the middle gates in two quiet lines to meet our parents.

websites. The site will house important documents like quarterly recitations, spelling words, Homework-at-a-Glance, a link to check student grades, etc. We will update the site with important events and news.

Homework PolicyMonday-Thursday (up to 60 minutes, up to 20 minutes reading)
Math (side B), Phonics (side B), Spelling (daily activity in composition book), Reading ( at least 15 minutes),
Homework-at-a-Glance (every Monday)All homework and incomplete class work is due

T.P.S. No Late Homework Policy
Grades K-2 – “No Late” homework policy is a ten-step process that begins and ends with each quarter. If a student attends class and does not have his/her homework completely finished and turned in, the consequences as outlined in the handbook will be followed.
Absent?Make-Up Work Policy
Teacher will provide the student with any missed work.It is the student’s responsibility to complete and turn-in this work in
the allotted time.Students who are absent for one day will be given one day to complete all missed work.
(Ex. If Johnny is absent on Monday and returns to school on Tuesday, he is given one night to make up missed work that will be due on Wednesday. Hence, if Johnny is absent for three days he will be granted three days to make up the work and turn it in on the fourth day.
Long-term projects - due regardless of absence
How Can I Help My Child With Homework?
Create a quiet place for your child to be able to work and study.Check you child’s “Parent Info Sleeve” nightly for important information forms.
Review the Homework-at-a-Glance schedule nightly to ensure that all assignments and incomplete class work have been completed.
Every night ask your child about his/her new learning. (i.e. Spelling words, history, science, literature) Confirm that your child has packed necessary books, assignments ,and supplies into his/her binder/backpack for the following school day.
Other Important Homework Information
If a student forgets an assignment at home, the student will not be allowed to call home for a parent to bring the work back to school.
A parent may not turn in a late assignment at the end of the day.
Please leave everything in their BEE Binder unless it is in the Parent Info pocket.
