Title 1 Program

• Federally funded program• Service public and

parochial schools throughout the country

• Currently Reading, Math, ESL and Student Support Services are available to eligible students

Counselor’s Role

• Provides individual and group counseling

• Academic intervention• Referrals• Parent workshops

Consent Forms

• Must be signed by parent or guardian

• Copy kept on file

Individual Counseling

• Counseling provided on various topics such as: bullying, school phobia and bereavement.

• Consent is mandatory.

Group Counseling

• Groups on bullying, anger and self esteem.

• Students can be referred by parent, teacher, principal and/or student.

• Consent is mandatory.

Referrals

• Referrals for tutors• Referrals for CSE and

private academic evaluations

• Referrals for outside counseling
