Class BeginsClass Begins

Be in your seat when the bell rings.

Do not run down the hall or just be

stepping over the threshold.

Be on time for lab after break.

Make time to visit your locker or

lavatory during break or before class.

Keep cell phones off and out of sight.

Put purses and bags on the floor out of aisles.

Writing utensil.

Three ring binder or notebook and a folder.

There will be many handouts.

A 3 hole punch is available.

Covered text book.

Calculators - basic with exponents(plus at least trig functions).

You need to know the functions and be able to use it for homework and on tests.

Write down what is important for you.

Are due , handed in ,at the beginning of class.

Homework is to practice skills and identify

areas in need of further explanation

Will not be accepted in red or pink ink!

Lab ReportsLab Reports

Lab reports will generally be due before the next lab period .

Make sure to include the title, purpose, data and answers to questions.

Look up concepts behind answers to questions – do not just Google them.

Must have the names of all participants if it is a group report. They must show group effort and not be “divide and conquer”.

College Level must be individual, unique reports in lab notebooks.

“If you and others have come jointly to a conclusion by way of your discussions, then you “own” part of that conclusion and you can present it as your own. After such discussion though, I expect the participants to write down their own thoughts when it comes to the presentation of results. ..If you really understand what you’ve been talking about, you should be able to explain it in your own words.”

Your answers show your understanding. Make them unique!

Late WorkLate Work A deduction of one letter grade per day will

apply to late work.

After five days, no credit will be given.

Assignments are graded the day they are handed in, usually (99% of the time).

They will be returned when all are in or after five days.

TestsTests

Are usually given during double periods.

Must be made up immediately after an absence. We can use the unit lunch time for make ups.

Will be handed back when everyone has completed the test (Grades should be available the next day).

Class RulesClass Rules

Be courteous to your classmates and teacher.

Respectfully correct the mistakes of others.

Listen when someone asks a question.

Do not get up to throw away trash or sharpen pencils during class instruction.

Do not sit on desks or lab tables.

Use of the bathroom during class time is for EMERGENCIES ONLY!!! (Plan your schedule accordingly)

Internet searches or email must be based on class assignments.

You may come during study periods, if the computers are not in use, and do other school related work.

You are welcome to use the computers and printer before school, after school and during lunch.

No food or drinks; finish breakfast or lunch before class

Gum must stay in your mouth

Stop at the water fountain before class.

Water bottles must remain unobtrusive.

Let me know about health problems as soon as possible.

cycle.

One letter day we will have a double period, which will usually be one class period and one lab period. Occasionally both periods will be used for class or lab.

Do not store your books on the shelf.(Management is not responsible for things left in class.)

Students will be dismissed from their seats.

Do not line up by the door. It is a fire hazard.

The fire exit is to the rear of the building.
