How A Country Club Works

Members are the owners and the customers! They pay dues to operate the club.

They elect leaders. The leaders select a General Manager.

Committees work with the Board and Management Team.

The General Manager selects a management team and the team selects employees.

The Role Of The Chief Operating Officer

“A rising tide lifts all boats” Work with the Management Team,

Board and Committees. Help them do their job better.

Initially my priorities are set in large part by member survey and financial statement.

Where the money is coming from and where it is going.

“The buck stops here.” Responsibility.

What we can do. To improve our future and the club’s

future.

Provide excellence in all we do. Increase member use of club.

Help retain and attract members.

A Member Is… The most important person in the club. Not dependent on us – we are

dependent on them. Not an interruption of our work. A

member is the purpose of our work.

Page 20: Welcome! (2)

A Member Is… The person who defines quality in all

we do. The person who comes to us with their

wants and needs. It is our job to satisfy their wants and needs.

The key to our success. Member satisfaction means employee satisfaction.
