After graduating from OU's Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre in May of 2013, I worked at a regional theatre in St. Louis called the MUNY. I was cast in their musical productions of Shrek and Mary Poppins. It was also where I got my equity card. Then, I officially moved to New York City in September of 2013. One of the first big auditions I had was for a workshop of a possible Broadway revival of On The Town, which happened to be the same show I did at OU the spring of my senior year, and played the role of Gabey. I ended up booking the workshop and performed it for a bunch of people in the industry, including possible investors for the show. It was the following spring they announced the show was moving to Broadway and I received a call from my agents that I got an offer to continue with the show and make my Broadway debut in the ensemble, and understudy the roles of Chip and Ozzie! During the summer months, I worked at a couple of regional theaters and then in August of 2014, we

began rehearsals for the Broadway production. Previews started on September 20th and we officially opened October 16th, 2014. We had 396 performances and closed the show on Labor Day weekend on September 6th, 2015. I was actually the only member of the company that never missed a show, which is crazy to think about. I also got to perform both roles that I understudied during the run. So, after the Broadway production and the production I did at OU, I can officially say that I've played all three sailors of On The Town. How crazy is that? I feel extremely lucky and fortunate for all the experiences I've had since graduating from OU. I know for a fact I wouldn't be where I am today without all the guidance from my professors and experiences I had my four years at college. As for words of wisdom and advice... keep learning. We can always be better at our craft. I struggle with perfectionism, which is impossible. But, I remind myself we can al-ways strive for excellence, which is possible. At OU, I came in with a strong dance background and wanted to expand my singing and acting. So, while learning more in those two areas, I auditioned for upper division dance classes with the dance majors so I could expand my dancing abilities at the same time. When I was a junior, I auditioned for upper division acting classes and even took a private piano class for a semester. The more you can do... the more marketable you'll be in the industry. Also, people will have their opinions about you and make judgements on what they believe you can and cannot do. You're only limited to what you see in yourself. If you see in your head that you want to be a great singer, keep learning, watch the greats... both pros of today and those of the past (YouTube is a great tool these days), and make it happen for yourself. You can do it. Last thing... if things are progressing well for you, that will undoubtedly boost your confidence. And, you should feel proud of the work you've done and the things you've achieved. But, stay humble and be kind to others. Not just to fellow cast members, but everyone from the crew to wardrobe to producers. The longer you're in this business... the sooner you'll realize how small the world is. And, if you leave a bad impression on someone, word gets around. Talent will only get you so far. Time and time again... I hear creatives say that they will cast performers they like being around. Keep showing up, work hard, and be kind. Boomer Sooner!

GET AHEAD. STAY ON TRACK. CATCH UP. WHY SHOULD YOU ENROLL IN OU SUMMER SESSION?

Summer Session provides you with “more possibilities” and a unique opportunity to get ahead, stay on track, or catch up while still enjoying some downtime during the summer .

Most summer classes held on campus are small, allowing students and faculty to enjoy more informal interactions in a relaxed environment. In addition, all students may live on campus during the summer months where friendships are formed, programming and activities are provided, and easy parking is available.

Understanding that many look forward to a slower pace during summertime, OU’s intensive, accelerated summer course schedule allows students to earn quick credit hours while providing ample time for enjoying summer downtime and fun.
