That increase would probably not force a car owner to change his car. Even a gas guzzling SUV only consumes $2,500 – 3,000 worth of gas per year (based on 20,000 miles), and opting for a more fuel efficient vehicle would only result in savings of couple of hundred dollars.

However, this is not the case for a burner, especially when it is heavily used.

A burner costing $30,000 can easily burn $300,000 - $350,000 fuel in a year.

We can easily say that the initial cost of buying a burner is negligible considering the fuel it will burn during its life span.

Combustion efficiency is calculated by measuring the oxygen amount in flue gases.

The lower the oxygen level, the better the combustion and the higher the efficiency.

Weishaupt burners can operate at 3% oxygen level almost for the whole firing range without any additional equipment such as O2 trim.

These low levels are achievable by special head designs unique to Weishaupt.

Turndown is the ratio between the max and min firing rates. Weishaupt burners have high turndown ratios and less off cycles.

Low fireposition - sleeve closed, air is forced through the middle of the diffuser

High fireposition - sleeve open, air is forced through the outside of the diffuser

Maintains pressure drop throughout entire firing range.

Result: Higher turn down, less on/off cycling, higher efficiency.
