What is Climate: Climate encompasses the statistics of temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, precipitation, atmospheric particle count and other meteorological elemental measurements in a given region over long periods. Climate can be contrasted to weather, which is the present condition of these elements and their variations over shorter periods. A region's climate is generated by the climate system, which has five components: atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, land surface, and biosphere. The climate of a location is affected by its latitude, terrain and altitude, as well as nearby water bodies and their currents. Climates can be classified according to the average and the typical ranges of different variables, most commonly temperature and precipitation. The most commonly used classification scheme was originally developed by Wladimir Koppen. According to Wladmir Koppen, there are 6 climate zones including: Tropical humid, Dry, Mild Mid Latitude, Severe Mid Latitude, Polar and Highland.

As a group, you can begin working on your assigned parts.Researchers: Here are some helpful websites that will start you in the right direction:•http://www.blueplanetbiomes.org/climate.htm•http://www.worldclimate.com/•http://www.wxresearch.com/usnorm.htmIllustrators: You can start by looking on Google images for some ideas on pictures to include on your posters. You should have at least 5 pictures that go along with your information and two should be hand drawn. Authors: You can start by helping the researchers take down their information on the note guide I provided for you in class. You may also be typing the information up as your group goes if you want to present the information on the poster typed out.

You’ll need to cite your sources you found information from on a separate page. Here is a link that will help with that: http://easybib.com/
