CULMINATING ASSIGNMENT: My Plan, My Future (Portfolio)Name:

Description:

Now that you are completing the course, prepare a portfolio demonstrating what you have learned and how you have created a basic plan for your future (or at least started). You will include artifacts from this course, such as; class work, journal entries, assignments, notes, annotated research (documents or other information you have researched with notes on it), or any other work completed during this course. You will also include a short essay for each section of your portfolio, describing what you have learned and how you are applying it to your life.

Instructions:

1. Review and create a list of what you have learned and accomplished in this course including:

a. All of your course work

b. All of your notes

c. All of your assignments (in unit and culminating)

2. Review each unit of this course and find pieces of work you have completed that demonstrate that you have learned each of the following topics:

a. Unit 2: Your Personal Profile:

i. Multiple intelligences

ii. Gratitude

iii. The Big 5 personality characteristics

iv. Life goals

v. Myers Briggs Personality Types

b. Unit 3: Future Changes in Careers:

i. Your passions

ii. Your strengths

c. Unit 4: Whats Possible? Defining Your Plan:

i. What will the journey of your life look like (where did you come from and where are you going)?

iii. How are you growing and changing?

iv. The 8 Secrets of Success

v. Possible education and career paths

vi. Your plan for life after high school

3. For each unit listed above, identify 7 pieces of work, demonstrating that you have learned each of the topics covered in that unit. Thoughtfully ask yourself these questions:

a. What did I learn through this work?

b. How does this work demonstrate my learning?

c. What can I apply from this work to my life?

4. For each unit, write a 1.5-2 page essay describing (use Times New Roman, 12pt, double spacing):

a. What you learned from this unit

b. What skills course work has helped you develop

c. What you have learned about yourself

d. What you will apply from this unit to your life

5. Portfolios should have the following layout:

a. A paper cover or thin binder to keep everything inside, neat and orderly

b. Title page, including your name, the date, course and teacher this is completed for

c. A short written introduction (no more than one page, no less than a page) a summary of you have done and whats inside the portfolio

d. Unit two: My Personal Profile

i. 1.5-2 page essay about unit 2 (answering questions from step 4)

ii. 7 pieces of work that are good examples of how you have learned the topics from the unit

e. Unit three: Future Changes in Careers

i. 1.5-2 page essay about unit 2 (answering questions from step 4)

f. Unit four: Whats Possible Defining My Plan

i. 1.5-2 page essay about unit 2 (answering questions from step 4)

ii. 7 pieces of work that are good examples of how you have learned the topics from the unit

g. A one page, concluding summary of what you think about yourself, now that you have taken this course.
