Superman is a superhero film based on the DC Comics character.

The movie is about an alien orphan (Christopher Reeve) that is sent from his dying planet to Earth, where he grows up to become Earth’s first and greatest superhero.

Superman was the most expensive film made up to that point with a budget of $55 million. The movie earned $300 million, and was nominated for three Academy Awards.

It was a ground breaking film for special effects and science fiction.
