2. Connect the power cord to the power block and plug the charger into an outlet.

3. Plug the other end of the charger into the power port on the tablet.

Once the tablet is connected to the charger, put all the recyclable packaging materials back into the box.

Make sure the etched Asset Tag# on top of your tablet matches the barcode on the bottom of your tablet and the number written on your box.

Then continue following the setup instructions in the left-hand column.

Essential Information This tablet is part of our educational program. It is like a textbook: you are responsible to keep it

in good condition and can incur fines that will impact your ability to participate in student activities if it is damaged or lost. You are also expected to bring it to class, fully charged and functional (regular updates help with this).

All students have premade accounts in Canvas, Aeries, and Office365. You can find direct links to these accounts on the home page of the school website.

Insurance will not cover tablets that are lost, but it will cover tablets that are damaged or stolen. If your tablet is stolen, you must file a police report with our School Resource Officer.

If your tablet is damaged or not working properly, see Mr. Kohler in the library during Tech Time (which is usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch and 7th period).

Quick Tips Clean with a microfiber cloth regularly. DO NOT

USE CHEMICAL-BASED CLEANERS. Keep your tablet in a padded backpack or

protective case or sleeve. Never leave your tablet unattended. Update your tablet at least once a week.

1. Be sure that the device is connected to the internet

2.Click the Windows button in the lower left corner

and select the gear icon. 3. Choose “Update & Security” from the menu.4.After downloading updates it will need to restart in order to fully install the updates. Restart the device.

NEVER download anti-virus or malware software. Windows updates will keep your tablet secure and functioning properly.

Think of your tablet as a study room:o Keep it safe. Keep it sacred. This will make

your study time effective, efficient, and productive.

o Keep streaming software off your tablet (games, movies, music, etc.). It will slow your tablet down, and, worst of all, it will open the door to debilitating habits.
