Types of comedy or humor they used

▪ They performed "literate" comedy, combined with slapstick. They often used classical or Shakespearean settings and characters

▪ What is slapstick?– comedy based on deliberately clumsy actions and humorously

embarrassing events.

▪ Wayne and Shuster show appealed to educated people because it took intelligence and a certain knowledge of history and the classics for granted.

▪ Occasionally, the troupe also satirized Canadian politics. For example Speaker of the House skit.

▪ One of their shows consisted of one inappropriate word revering to a woman as “a broad”. They also make fun of other races like first nations

▪ In my opinion after looking at some episodes people from the age of 13 and up are suited to watch these comedies
