• Now we have the NBI-a shared vision programme has a pillar on Water Resources Management based in Ethiopia
• Negotiations on cooperative framework are taking place
NILE BASIN MAP
SHARING TRANSBOUNDARY WATERS
• Transparency in sustainable use of water
• It is important that decision makers understand that when the limits of water resources are being reached it is necessary to begin thinking in terms of "what can we do with what we have", rather than " what would we like to do"
COMMON DATABASE• A common or shared database brings up a better
understanding of water resources issues in the basin, enables sharing of vision for development and thus enhances good relationship among member states.
• Database-NBI countries through FAO Water Resources project (hydrological, meteorological, landuse). No Ethiopian data.

CONCLUSION
• The availability of analysis tools (eg. DST, LVDSS)where data is commonly stored enables meaningful solutions to be obtained objectively among riparian countries in the basin.
• Data sharing protocol is necessary
• Cooperative Framework
