Free trial demonstrates capabilitiesAllweiler AG is off ering customers a
free trial of its progressing cavity
pumps and peristaltic pumps. By
making this off er, Allweiler says it
intends to demonstrate the
benefi ts of using these pumps
under diffi cult conditions.
The equipment is suited to liquids
that are sensitive to pressure and
shearing forces, very thick liquids,
fl uids that must be pumped across
great distances without pulsation,
as well as liquids that contain a
large amount of solids or long
fi bres. In addition, the pumps can
be individually adapted to
substances with problematic
chemical or physical properties.
This promotional event, available
until the end of the year, is aimed
primarily at operators and builders
in the wastewater treatment,
chemical, cosmetics, pharmaceu-
tical, and food and beverage
industries. In particular, it is
intended for potential customers
who must overcome unusual
pumping tasks and desire an
effi cient, economical solution.
Allweiler will provide free analysis,
sizing, installation, and on-site
service throughout the trial period.

Water conservation installation projectGrundfos has installed eight pumps
at a new centre designed to
showcase renewable and sustain-
able materials for building and
water conservation projects.
As part of the Wolseley initiative,
the Sustainable Building Centre will
form a single point of contact for
data and information on the topic.
Four ALPHA2 pumps and four
MAGNA pumps were supplied to
the centre in Lemington Spa, UK.
Grundfos says these ‘A’ energy rated
pumps are equipped to meet
demand without compromising
either comfort levels or the
environment.
The Grundfos ALPHA2 domestic
circulator is designed for a variety
of domestic circulation heating
systems, having both variable
speed pressure controlled
operation, and standard selectable
three speed operation. Using
pressure controlled operation
power, the pump aims to reduce
consumption to as low as 5 W.
Also installed, the MAGNA range of
powerful pumps is designed to for
heating and air conditioning
systems in fl ats, hospitals, schools,
or industry.

Piston pumps dispenserThe Sensata® has been introduced
by Fluid Metering Inc (FMI). The
programmable dispensing system
uses precision stepper motors to
control a variety of the company's
valveless piston pumps.
The Sensata® has a range from 500
nanoliters per dispense to 2 l/min
continuous fl ow. The dispenser will
accommodate all FMI pump sizes in
both fi xed and adjustable displace-
ment confi gurations. The pump heads
are integrally mounted to the control
unit, which includes the stepper
motor drives as well as programmable
driver electronics. The system can be
confi gured to control either one or
two pump heads. For two pump
heads, each pump can be
controlled independently for dual
dispensing.
