Job Purpose Roots & Shoots is a specialist training provider for young people with barriers to learning and work. This is a student facing role and it is important that all staff place individual learning at the center of teaching and assessment. Tutors are required to help make sure that students meet all occupational standards needed to achieve their qualification, combining teaching or training duties with the assessment work This role requires preparation ahead of each class and to be ready to teach at the start time; mark any work, make notes towards completing the reviews and any other relevant tasks. The time needed to prepare and update records is included within the daily salary. Study Programme To implement and deliver differentiated and comprehensive aims and objectives for students. To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students. To complete regular relevant and detailed progress reviews. To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential. To contribute to raising standards of student attainment. To keep up to date with all information provided on students including updates received via email. To be responsible for checking all student information on the Roots & Shoots shared drive. To plan and deliver vocational training programmes and workshops To observe and assess students To examine students' portfolios of evidence questioning and providing feedback and offering advice if the standards are not met. To sign off the award when all the requirements have been met. To keep records of students' progress. To attend meetings with other staff working and work in a collaborative way. To make sure qualifications and expertise are current and keeping an up to date CPD log. Skills and Experience Have experience delivering Retail Skills in a classroom setting Have recent relevant experience in Retail A genuine interest developing young people Excellent communication skills

The ability to relate to people at all levels

A methodical approach to work

Accurate report writing and record keeping skills

Desirable

A recognised teaching and/ or assessor qualification

Experience with learning difficulties/disabilities
