ABOUT THE WVHS BAND Walker Valley High School first opened its doors in the Fall of 2001. In its inaugural year, the Mustang Band consisted of 83 performers. Over the years the band has grown in both quality and numbers. This year we have set a new record with 247 students. During the first twelve years the band has performed for countless people at football games, contests, concerts, parades, and honor festivals. The band has even traveled to London, England four times to perform in The Lord Mayor's New Years Day Parade.
OUR PURPOSE IN REQUESTING DONATIONS When the school first opened, the band had to rent a t ruck to t ranspor t ou r equ ipment to each performance. After a few years we obtained a used tractor trailer which we outfitted to carry all of our instruments, uniforms, and props. We have used this trailer for nearly ten years and the band has almost doubled in size since the trailers first use. We are busting at the seams and with your tax deductible contribution we will purchase a larger 53' trailer. Donations will also be used to modify the interior to make efficient use of storage space.
