• Share your experience of volunteering with Volunteering Solutions in Palampur, India!!

• I was a volunteer at a daycare center in India, Palampur region for 2 weeks. It was such a joy to work with these kids and get to know their culture and how they actually live. Palampur was breathtaking and the people so warm and friendly. The volunteers house so welcoming and warm .The coordinators so helpful and encouraging! I can’t imagine anything that would have given me more inner peace and delight than being able to wake up everyday and go to work with those kids. We got to help them with their English, encourage them to try new things and get to see them enjoy our company!

• What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip?

• Becoming so attached to the children. They feel like my own and I am proud to of met them. It will be very hard to say goodbye. Nargikot was by far the most beautiful trip I had taken outside the Kathmandu valley and recommend the sunrise to anyone.

• Did you enjoy working at your project / placement?• Absolutely. This was the best experience I have ever

gone through. The kids/people are the most respectful people I have ever met and Nepal is one of the most peaceful places I have ever been.

placement?

• Very pleasant. I really love the English teachers there. Some of the students were a bit lazy but others were very keen and interested in learning. Also, very convenient to live so close.

• Lunch and dinner were always very nice. Lots of variety with both meat and vegetables. Breakfast could be more interesting but fruit was always good.

• The food was wonderful, and Tree House charming and mellow. I also enjoyed staying above the gift shop. From my balcony I could watch the elephants plodding down to the river twice a day for their bath.


• Being part of this incredible village of beautiful Thai people for a brief period of time. Waking up to the roosters crowing, and then hearing the trainers shouts Hai, Hai as the elephants slowly, steadily made their way down to the river. Participating in the life of this incredible team of people running a successful tourist enterprise with few electric appliances, in friendly cooperation.

student, it would have been helpful to have separate activities from the pre medical students.

much better than I expected. The food was delicious and the cook cooked 3 meals per day.

• I loved it. Working with the children was amazing and it was wonderful to be able to work with the teacher on the daily lessons. It was also incredible to live and work in Cusco for a month. The city is safe, beautiful and there are so many things to do.

• The meals were always delicious and our host mother always made sure we ate enough. The accommodation was safe and I loved my host family. Our host mother always made sure we were comfortable and happy. I am going to miss living in Cusco.

and received back. By teaching English to these teens also improved my Spanish and I was able to learn about the kids, their lives and about Honduras and its culture. It was a win-win situation.

taken care of, supported, respected and welcomed whole heartedly into their family home. The food was okay.
