one was able to try copper piercing, stenciling, ink writing, and weaving.
This was a great
way to show Mount Horeb
just how amazing the colo-
nial times really were!
By Sophie Loesberg
In late November the fifth grade had a Colo-nial Fair. The fifth graders worked hard to recreate a fair from the colonial times. There were activities to do in every fifth grade class-room.
Mrs. Cebula’s classroom was the School house. That room had games that were normally played at school. They played games like whirly gigs, ball and cup, gouse gouse, and cat’s cradle. Portraits were hung every-
where in black and white. Mrs. Carroll’s
classroom was the Com-mon. There was dancing and games in the Com-mon. They even had stock bowling .
Mrs. Miletic’s room
was the Colonial Home. There were four stations set up in her room. Every-
Food Drive at Mount Horeb
By Ali Burman and Andrew Morrison
Mount Horeb
brought in cans of food for
a local food bank to help
out others who are less
fortunate than us. As an
incentive, for the food
drive, the grade who
brought the most cans of
food won a free recess.
Each grade brought in over
170 cans of food! Since
there were so many cans
of food, Mount Horeb really
came together and helped
many families through the
holidays.
Two grades won a
free recess since there was
a tie. The grades that won
were 1st and 3rd. We did
this for a good cause! You
made Mount Horeb proud!

Brett Favre was born on October 10, 1969 Gulfport, Mississippi and was raised in the small town of Kiln. Brett Favre was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1991 but after one season he was traded to the Green Bay Packers. Then he was starting quarter-back for the Green Bay Pack-ers from 1992 to 2007 and after the 2007 season he was about to retire when he broke his re-tirement and went to the Jets in 2008. After that season he told the jets he was retiring. He came out of retirement for the 2nd time and signed with the Minnesota Vikings on August 18, 2009. Now he leads the Vikings 11-3. This is impressive
because he is 40 years old. Favre is the only player to win the AP Most Valuable player three consecutive times. He led the Packer to 7 division championships, four NFC Championship games winning 2 Super Ball (in 1996 and in 1997). He holds many NFL records including : most ca-reer touchdown passes, most career passing yards, most career pass completions, most career pass attempts, most career interceptions thrown, most consecutive starts, and most career victories as a starting quarterback.
