Does Abortion Harm a Woman’s Physical and Mental Health?

Abortion has completely failed as a social policy designed to aid women,” writes Serrin Foster, president of Feminists for Life. “It is a reflec-

tion that we have failed women.”1 Joan Appleton was an abortion advocate with NOW and head nurse at a Virginia abortion facility. She

asked herself why abortion was “such a psychological trauma for a woman, and such a difficult decision for a woman to make, if it was a

natural thing to do. If it was so right, why was it so difficult?” Appleton said to herself, “I counselled these women so well; they were so sure

of their decision. Why are they coming back now— months and years later—psychological wrecks?”Countless women who have been dam-

aged by abortions have said, “I had no idea this could happen; no one warned me about the risks.”

WHAT WOMEN SAY In surveys of women who experienced post- abortion complications:

1. Over 90 percent said they weren’t given enough information to make an informed choice.

2. Over 80 percent said it was very unlikely they would have aborted if they had not been so strongly encouraged to abort by others,

including their abortion counsellors.

3. Eighty-three percent said they would have carried to term if they had received support from boyfriends, families, or other important

people in their lives.

Every woman deserves better than abortion. (Source: Why Pro-life?)

Therefore Choose Life-TCL training in different institutes and communities.

6th September, 2015 Sunday: VOF trained 11

women from different parts of Nepal studying

in Women Leaders Training Centre-WLTC con-

ducted by the leadership training Department

of NCFN. They were strongly and thoroughly

instructed to speak and stand for life in their

community by using the Pro-life DVD pro-

duced by GI. Life-bag were also given to them.

10th September, 2015 Thursday: VOF

presented TCL training among 23 couples

in Nehemiah Institute in Lalitpur. They

blessing from God, importance of unborn

babies and the real fact of abortion. They

received the teaching with great serious-

ness and excitement.

21st September, 2015 Monday: VOF instructed 11 Church Pastor and

leaders from different parts of Nepal studying in the Institute owned by

Servlife Nepal in Lalitpur. The TCL presentation was really productive and

effective among them. All the leaders took the teaching very signifi-

cantly. A young Pastor admitted that he used to think that 12 weeks un-

born baby is just a blob of tissue and can be aborted, but the training

helped him to understand the sanctity of human life. They were really

excited to use the materials given to them for the use of their ministry.

9th October, 2015 Friday: VOF presented TCL training

among 46 youth in Nehemiah Institute in Lalitpur. The

youth participants were really serious and excited on

knowing the importance of human life and the harsh

truth of abortion. A lady participant told that she is very

hurry to pass the information to her friends and other

youths in her church. They were also prayed for new

starting and restoration through Jesus Christ.

22nd October, 2015 Thursday: VOF was

invited by the Koinonia Church in Thankot

for the TCL training. Soman Rai presented

teaching on the sanctity of human life,

abortion and its complications among

more than 150 people. The presentation

remained very fruitful to each participant.

Rai took an opportunity to present

‘Therefore Choose Life’ TCL presenta-

tion among the Seminary students

dian Army. The presentation was quietly new for them. A lady admitted that she

aborted her babies due to her ignorance ...she was regretted and repented too. One

Life bag with DVD, book and brochures (developed by Gabriel International-GI) for their family to watch and read at the end of

the training. The officer of Municipality said us to do same kind of training among the students of collages and High schools. So,

in next time we will go with the motivation to do training in collage and schools. The 60% of total participants were non-

Christians...they responded the presentation with tears and their heart was very mild to accept the truth of Life and abortion.

They really appreciated and thanked the local churches who invited them to attend the training.

Voice for the Voiceless( VFV) training in some sites

Most of the members of the local churches admitted that they were not really serious and conscious with the issue of abor-

for that… As a whole, the presentation remained very fruitful and productive. It was full of Gospel. Every part of the DVD pres-
