VM Tarm a/s is the leading manufacturer of stainless steel and aluminium tankers for the transport industry in the Nordic market.

More than 50 years of experience and an annual production of about 200 tankers have provided us with extensive know-how within tanker development, design and production.

We develop, manufacture and assemble all our tanks, chassis, mechanical components and controls at our facility in the Danish town of Tarm.

We employ 200 staff and have a total area of 45,600 m2 at our disposal, of which 15,820m2 are indoor facilities used for produc-tion and assembly, maintenance, electrical installations, component manufacturing and administration.

With our customers in focus, we construct and manufacture cost-competitive and high-quality lightweight tankers.

We supply feed tankers, liquid manure trailers, chemical trailers, milk tankers and specially-designed tankers for mink feed, beer, etc.

Liquid manure trailersVM Tarm has produced liquid manure tanks and trailers since the 1990s. As pioneers, we were among the first to manufacture tankers that were specially designed to carry liquid manure on trucks and trailers.

We now build stainless steel liquid manure trailers, chassis, cranes and pipes. We work closely with our customers to develop and enhance our liquid manure tanks and trailers.

It is a well-known fact that time is money and, therefore, we concentrate on pump capacities and offer three types of pump systems.

Our liquid manure tanks and trailers are supplied with two, three or four axles and PLC control with combined radio operation.

Feed tankersVM Tarm has close connections with the agricultural sector. We have supplied to the feedstuff industry for decades. Aluminium tanks in combination with rust-proof chassis, consoles, fenders and piping results in future-proof products.

Our feed tankers are supplied with sliding manlids, cyclone filters and in-house manufactured suction/blowing systems.

Chemical trailersWe have 25 years of experience and a solid customer portfolio in the Nordic countries, and have in-depth knowledge of the production of tankers for use in chemical transportation.

Most of our chemicals tanks are made of stainless steel. They are low-maintenance, lightweight tanks, which have a long useful lifetime.

The tanks are produced in compliance with the regulatory requirements in force and supplemented with pertinent approvals according to the type of product.

Milk tankersThe milk segment is the cornerstone of VM Tarm (VM stands for “Western Jutland Dairy Service”).

Over several decades we have developed and manufactured milk tankers in co-operation with our customers.

This long-time experience has given us a wide knowledge of phy-sical transport conditions, hygiene handling, pump cabin design, controls and tank types. Our milk tank constructions, carriers, trailers and carts can be delivered with top manlids as well as side manlids.

Specially-designed tankersWe have more than 50 years of experience of providing custo-mised transport solutions. Our expertise is second-to-none.

VM Tarm offers service and repair of all types of tankers and tank trailers (feed tankers, liquid manure trailers, chemical trai-lers, milk tankers, mink feed tankers, beer tankers, etc.). Our dedicated and experienced team provides high-quality service, including troubleshooting, mechanical tasks, inspections and electrical engineering.

Our service workshop performs individual repairs, regular service and maintenance and extensive repairs, transfers and insurance jobs.

We have a new, fully-modern service workshop at our disposal in Tarm with all the equipment necessary for servicing all types of tankers. Drivers can wait in our new driver’s room with TV, internet, coffee and washing facilities. Our service department offer sale and mounting of tires for your tanker. We can fulfill your requests of tire types and time of mounting. We are an authorised service partner for BPW and SAF axles.

We cover the whole of ScandinaviaVM Tarm’s mobile service team is available round the clock to perform urgent and routine tasks.

Our skilled and service-minded team makes regular service tours of Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

At the VM Tarm warehouse, we stock about 8,000 spare parts for tankers and chassis, as well as electrical and mechanical components.

Our component department manufactures quality spare parts and components on a daily basis. We can supply the parts you need - quickly and efficiently. Together we can effectively reduce tanker breakdowns to a minimum. This is Danish quality at its best.

If you order warehouse parts before 2 pm, we will send the items on the same day. We can ship all over the world, as ordinary freight or express delivery. Our warehouse team are ready at the phone or computer to take your order, and their most important task is to give you rapid, professional and friendly service.

Sales departmentOur customer portfolio includes global enterprises, including Arla Foods, Carlsberg A/S and Maabjerg Bioenergy a.m.b.a, and national companies, such as Danish Agro a.m.b.a and Johs. Rasmussen Svebølle A/S.

We do our utmost to maintain business partnerships with our customers, and have highly qualified sales representatives, whose primary focus is on meeting customer needs.

We combine our long-term tanker expertise with our customers’ specific experience and wishes to produce optimum solutions.

ProductionAt VM Tarm we work in production teams of approx. 10-15 employees, including a working foreman.

The production consists of the following workshops:• Welding workshop with certified welders for the welding of

tanks.• Component workshop with smiths and machine operators

for the manufacturing of components (manlids, cabin boxes, gangways, etc.) for tank constructions.

• Chassis workshop with welders/fitters for the manufacturing of carts, trailers, carriers and semi-trailers.

• Electrical workshop with electricians/technicians for electrical tank construction works and repairs.

• Assembly workshops with fitters, each with their own area of product specialisation.

• Service workshop with all-round employees for service and repair of own as well as other tanker manufactures.

The production department also includes our purchasing, ware-house and planning functions.

Technical department Over the years the technical department at VM Tarm has been armed to solve jobs, which were given up by others. All in all the employees in the department have more than 150 years of construction and design experience, including 80 years of experi-ence in manufacturing tankers.

The work in our technical department is characterized by con-structive interaction and on-going dialogues with the customer in question to ensure that this customer receives an optimum solution with regard to mechanics and controls. We want to make abso-lutely sure that any tanker delivered by us matches its purpose completely.

Our technicians have efficient, state-of-the-art equipment and software at their disposal, including the latest version of the Solid Works drawing program, which makes development and simula-tion in three-dimensional sketches and drawings possible.

In addition to tanker design, the technical department is respon-sible for the handling of regulatory requirements, such as ADR, ATEX, feedstuff contact materials, CE marking, etc.

AdministrationOur administration department takes care of finance and HR and mans the reception desk.

The finance department prepares corporate budgets and accounts, issues invoices to customers, pays creditors and pays wages to all our employees.

The HR department is committed to being continuously updated on wages and labour agreements and offers support in case of recruitments and dismissals.

Our friendly receptionists welcome customers and suppliers when they call us or visit VM Tarm in person.
