ism, urban tourism, eco-tourism and urban-eco-tourism (blue-green cities) are beginning to receive an important role. Besides the above mentioned, another dis-tinctive tendency (in the countries of east and south-east Europe and many countries of Asia) is beginning to appear and it is the religious-rthodox tourism, or so called pilgrimage. The general hypothesis of this research has been the following: the Orthodox religion can hardly be seen through the prism of contemporary tendencies in tourism (this implies the mass movement of tourists). The goal of this presentation and discussion is not to establish the nal opinions regarding the relation between travel industry and Orthodox religion, but to comprehend the true relations between these two notions that havent been, at least in our country, the subject matter of any extensive research, so far. Of course, the accent has been put on the assumption that Serbia, as an Orthodox holiday destination, can attract the post-modern and post-tourist tourists, although today they craves the simulation only, as well as the magic truth instead of the genuine truth.
