Description:A webpage created to display a personally created logo for Jamba Juice.

    Date:June 18, 2015

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):I created this webpage using only TextWrangler for my HTML and CSS. Being new to any form of web design, it was interesting to learn HTML/CSS.

When I had typed up all my content, tags and inserted my image, I attached a pre-made CSS document to my HTML. I then chose the colors from my logo as the colors for my web page. I found these colors with Photoshop and using the eyedropper tool. I also changed my fonts to to match my logo and limit my fonts to two. I made sure to add some backup fonts just in case the viewers browser didnt have these fonts. I then inserted an image found from the web to act as my background photo of fruit. I also added padding around the logo and text so that they would not be too close to the edge of the web page. This was one of the most chal-lenging parts of working with CSS. I used TextWrangler & Photo-shop.

eDescription:A double sided trifold brochure advertising the movie Jurassic World.

    Date:July 11, 2015

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills):Using Adobe Illustrator, I created an original logo for Universal Studios using the pen tool.

I then created two documents on InDesign, and split them into three equal and identical sections. The created the inside and outside of brochure. Working within those sections, I added my images, and created text boxes to add to my design. I used mainly blue and green, with a few accents of brick to display my color scheme.

I chose the design I wanted for the front of my brochure to be. I then found two images, the dinosaur eye and ferns, and used Adobe Photoshop to blend the two images together. For the inside flap, I added the Jurassic World logo to showcase more specifically what my brochure was about. The back panel contains fun facts about the movie and its production.

The inside of my brochure displays a large background image of the landscape taken from the movie, featuring a velociraptor that I Photoshopped into the background. I also added images of two of the main characters from the movie. One of the images is placed in its original rectangular form, while the other was extracted using the selector tool on Photoshop them placed on my brochure. I added a text wrap around the second character image.

I then printed the brochure on high quality paper, trimmed the edges, and folded it appropriately.

nDescription:Show good photography skills and demonstrate image editing skills. Incorporate a color scheme into a design with an original photograph.

    Date:May 23, 2015

Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles):The first thing I did was figure out my color scheme by using my FOCUS books. I chose a big split compli-mentary color scheme with red, orange, green, and purple. Once I had a color scheme figured out, I went around campus to find an object to photograph that fit my color scheme. I took a quality image with a Nikon DSLR D3100 camera, using good light, composition, and focus. I then edited the photo Photoshop, specif-ically changing the levels, sharpness, saturation, and color balance. I designed an 8.511 layout, including my photo, text, color swatches, and a design using my color scheme elements.

Objective:I created a fun and inspirational message using my photo as the back drop for a quote that fit my design.
