VISITOR ACCESS AUTHORIZATION AND CONTROL LOG
PGN ACCESS GUIDELINES
I understand that the below listed guidelines are prerequisites to the granting of access to any controlled access area at the Progress Energy Nuclear Power Plant:
1. All personnel, vehicles, and containers (i.e., purses, briefcases, boxes, lunch containers, mail, etc.) are subject to search prior to entry to the Protected Area and at the time of exit. Additionally, all personnel are subject to unannounced searches of both person and packages while within the Protected Area. Searches will be conducted to ensure that no unauthorized firearms, other unauthorized weapons, unauthorized explosives, unauthorized incendiary devices, items prohibited by law, or other devices that could be utilized for radiological sabotage/theft of special nuclear materials are taken into the Protected Area and that no radioactive material or company property is removed from the Protected Area.
2. All Escort Required individuals must be continually escorted within the Protected or Vital Areas.
3. Entrance and Exit from the Protected Area must be made through the Security Portal utilizing all access control equipment in the prescribed manner.
4. Should an assigned escort required badge become lost or stolen, the responsible individual is required to immediately notify Security of all known circumstances surrounding the incident.
5. Personal property introduced into Protected or Vital Areas which becomes contaminated will not be permitted to be removed from the Plant Site.
6. I understand that the use, possession (excluding those legally prescribed), or sale of drugs, narcotics, marijuana, or other controlled substances, to include alcoholic beverages is prohibited. Any violation will result in immediate removal from the plant site and if appropriate, referral to law enforcement authorities.
7. Photography and photographic equipment are permitted within the Protected Area under specific authorization for official purposes only. Contact Security personnel prior to the introduction of any photographic equipment including cell phones, PDA’s etc. within the Protected Area.
Progress Energy has implemented an extensive fire protection program which: (1) minimizes the probability of fire occurring, (2) reduces the consequences of fires which might occur, and (3) provides on-site capability to quickly extinguish fires. All visitors are expected to observe posted No Smoking signs and to use the trash receptacles and ash trays provided throughout the plant site.
Should a fire, or other emergency occur, an announcement will be made over the public address system. Your escort will advise you of the need for evacuation and will escort you to the designated areas should evacuation be necessary. You are required to comply with the instructions of your escort.
If you have recently received medical treatment using radio nuclides please contact Radiation Control prior to entering the Protected Area.
I am aware that I may receive additional information or instruction regarding radiation protection practices or radiation exposure hazards by requesting this information from Radiation Control
