What to consider when buying a stationary or operable pergola… The reliability and value of any pergola is determined by how much shade you desire, and the appearance and durability of the material. What to consider when buying a retractable awning… The reliability and ease of using a retractable awning is determined by the strength of the frame along with fabric quality. As you can imagine, the frame must be able to endure multiple cycles of extending out over the space you want to shade and then retracting back into its original position. Frame strength is determined by design, thickness of the metal parts, and most importantly by the cable system operating inside the frame, that allows your awning to resist winds and endure the in-and-out cycles. The awning fabric provides the other leg of durability. Because of the constant exposure to all kinds of weather, the thickness, fabric density, stitching, and the coloring process will be the main factors in the longevity of your awning fabric.

Who knew? This hidden screen system has been a secret for too long. If the sun reaches your patio from a low angle rather than overhead, a Sunesta Sentry retractable screen is the answer. A motorized screen is contained in an aluminum cassette with “captured ends” holding the sides of the screen tight to prevent blowing in the wind. Choose different screen densities and colors to match your needs.
