T:Dear students, today we are getting to the new unit. The unit is "The Royal family". As you see the theme of the unit it is going to be about the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

1. The UK is the shortened word of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Great Britain includes England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

England is a lowland country with the Pennine Chain, the Cumbrian mountains and the Yorkshire moorlands in the north.

Wales is a country of hills and mountains. Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis (1,343 m, 46406 ft) is in the central highlands of Scotland.

Northern Ireland is at its nearest point 21 km from Scotland.

The flag of the UK is called "Union Jack" because from 1801 England, Scotland and Ireland united. It's the union of the colours and stripes of the above three countries flag.

The UK has no president, they have the Queen. Now Elizabeth II is the Head the country.

The ex-prime-minister of the UK is Tony Blare, today's is Mr. Brown.
