Students will be able to Pronounce accented syllables correctly Students will be able to Identify accented syllables. Lesson Procedure: Lesson 6 Students will review alphabet. Learn that when a vowel is not followed by a consonant it is called an “open vowel” coded with a “macron” and given an “accent” Identify and code words. Vc and v’ Lesson 7 Practice accented syllables. New Increment: Blends (20) Lesson 8 Practice accented syllables. New Increment: Spelling with k and c /k/ sound with a “k” when followed by e, i, or y /k/ sound with a “c” when followed by a,o,u, or any consonant. Lesson 9 Accents= louder, longer, higher New Increment: Vc I cv pattern. “double consonants” Vccv patterns have the accent on the first syllable most of the time.
