In November 2010, Verizon announced a partnershipwith the authority on energy efficiency.
Verizon is now an official ENERGY STAR partner. Andthrough this partnership Verizon will:
Measure and track energy performance at hundreds of stores, switching centers, cell sites and other facilities throughout the United States.
Integrate Energy Star resources into our energy management strategy.
Spread the word about energy efficiency.
Corporate Responsibilitygreen initiatives
• In 2006, the Verizon Foundation began a grant partnership with Penn State to create a domestic violence prevention training program for Penn State faculty, staff and students
• Penn State Public Broadcasting produced a 60-minute documentary telling the story of Amy Homan McGee and distributed it nationally to all PBS Stations
• The documentary includes discussion with domestic violence victim advocates Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order SVU and Sheryl Cates from the National Domestic Violence Hotline

The Verizon Wireless LTE Innovation Center is based on the principle of driving innovation through collaboration.
The Center offers a collaborative environment to quickly develop and bring to market new and innovative solutions for use on Verizon Wireless’ 4G Long Term Evolution network.
It also features a testing facility for simulating the environments people encounter throughout the day. A number of simulated environments are available, such as a replica home, a travel environment, or a business office where factors such as product usage can be tested.
