Date and place of composition/copying and name of scribes.I am unsure as to whether the date given in the colophon: Thursday, the 10th of Shaʿban, 705 AH, represents the date of composition or copying. Given the name, مالني (?) is given as the one who is "كاتب الحروف," then the latter is the more likely.22. Marginal notes. Corrections. Red overlining.23. Ownership statements.24. Badly damaged. The bottom of half the pages is clipped off and the text is badly water damaged. The tops of the pages seem to be singed from fire damage.25. There are two red lines around the text block. PART I: The first part is a table of contents which has been added by a different hand and glossy, European paper with visible laid and chain lines. (See below in "other observations"). It lists as the book's contents the دالئل, God's names, those who died at the Battle of Badr and Uḥūd, descendants of the Prophet, the names of the people of the Cave, a list of those who opposed the Prophet, the names of the Messenger-prophets, and the authors referred to in the margins, which reference citations to: الشاذلى ؛ عبد القادر.and Qurʾān الكيالنيك السماني ؛ النووي ؛ الغزالي ؛ ابن مشيش ؛ محيى الدين ابن العربي ؛

PART II: The main text has two parts, the دالئل (which terminates on the verso of folio 104, see "explicit" above), and various lists of names (of God, Companions, etc.). This second section of the main text begins on the verso of folio 104 (in red thuluth):

والله يعلم متقلبكم ومشواكم هو اللهAfter this, there is a prayer-formula covering two folios (119, recto, and 120, verso), in another hand. It is upside-down, contrary to the rest of the text that precedes and follow. There are two formulas that are reported to be designed to shorten the punishments (عقبات) that will come in the afterlife for the recitor and for his parents. It begins:

فائدة في كل ليلة خمسة بين المغربوالعشا يصلي ركعتين يقراء

في كل ركعة بعد الفاتحةسورة اذا زلزلت خمسةعشر مرة من فعل ذلكسهلت له عقبات االخرة

كما ورد في الحديثAfter this section, on the recto of folio 120, there is what appears to be an ownership statement (see below).

PART III: From the verso of 121 to the recto of 137.There are a number of petitional formulae, prayers, venerational poetry, and Qurʾānic citations appended to the end of the text in different hands and on

paper similar to the table of contents. This section begins (121 verso) with the following prayer/magical formula to cure a fever:

On the verso of 130, there are three invocations praising God and the Prophet with the astrological signs at the bottom of the page.

From the recto of 130 until the verso of 132, there is a Qurʾānic passage written out with the letters separated, such as: ب ا س م ا ل ل ه ا ل ر ح م ا ن ا... ل ر ح ي م

On the verso of 133, the text begins in a very rough hand:) ومثل ذلك?ومثل ذلك عن يمين وعن ايمان ( ...

There follows a formula to be read "when you are afraid of the leader" ( اذا-cited from Abū Dawūd's "Sunan" on the authority of Abū Mūsā al (خفت سلطاناAshʿarī. There are several ḥadīth and anecdotes which continue until the verso of 136, which ends:

There seems to be different types of paper - some have visible laid and chain lines (European provenance) and some do not.17. There is a beautiful sarlough on the third recto and fourth recto (the first two pages are blank). The sarloughs are identical; they are gold with a blue, turquoise, and red floral design and blue stems extending up from it. In between the text and surrounding it is gold, and there is a gold block with triple ruled lack around the text. On the page outside the block is a gold, floral design.

The rest of the pages have a gold block ruled in black and red surrounding the text. The verses are separated by rossettes/florettes with orange and blue dots around them and sectioned into 6 slices.

On 30's and 38's recto there there is an ornate marker with an ع in it in the shape of a flower. On 42's recto there is a scarab like design in the margin. On 74's verso is a ornate marker in the shape of a flower with a ح in it (a حزب marker?).

There are ornate and beautiful talismans on the pages between 105 recto to 109 recto. The one on 105 recto has the word الله in gold leaf surrounded by a blue floral design and blocked in an orange, blue, and gold block with a different floral design. The verso of 106 has the word محمد surrounded by a similar design. The verso of 107 has a six-sided star with the title هذا مهر سليمان and several Qurʾānic quotes inside it. The recto of 107 has the four rightly guided caliphs' names in gold surrounded by Qurʾānic quotes, while 108 verso has the names عثمان، علي، حسن، حسين surrounded by Qurʾānic quotes.18.
