    Vampire kidnapping

Created and written by Lisa Richardson

Dark, foggy and mysterious was the atmosphere of the night when the dangerous adventure began.

Mindy had just finished work at the Coolers Bar, in the centre of so called quietest part of town, the

    meaning ended on this night.

Mindy was the kind of girl who had lots of friends, a few adventures and an amazing boyfriend who

was charming, funny and the man that most woman would die for. He had the dark hair, tanned

complexion, amazing looks and build, smartly dressed the majority of the time, and a lot of guys are

    a little jealous of.It was Saturday 14

thMay 2001,just after midnight, and the streets were deserted. The only thing

Mindy could hear was the sound of her own hills clinking on the cracked pavement. As she was

passing the dark empty stores she noticed a shoe shop that she has always liked but could never

afford. In big letters on the window was the word SALE, the word she has always longed to read at

this particular shop. She peered in through the window, between the letters S and A, just to

discover a pair of black knee-length suede boots which were reduced. As she strained her green

coloured eyes to see the new lower price, that she could maybe afford, she noticed a shadow cover

her whole view. As she slowly turned, she hoped it was someone from the bar trying to scare her.

As she faced the shadow, she noticed it was definitely not a person she knew.

Her green, ocean coloured eyes drained to an empty pool of shock, her face drained of colour, her

mouth went dry and her body went limp. She was obviously too scared to scream, she couldnt even

squeak. The shadow was not like anything she expected to see in her life, let alone standing in front of her.

She glared into the pale face of a vampire, whose eyes looked deep, dark and full of hunger. His

black hair was slicked back with a tint of yellow glow from the street lamp behind him. His red lips

parted to show gleaming white and very long sharp teeth. She felt like she was under a spell or

maybe hypnosis. Her vision went blank and she felt herself fall to the ground.

She opened her eyes to find herself staring up at nothing but darkness. At first she just thought she

was in her comfy double bed wrapped in her soft double duvet in her brightly coloured bedroom, in

her cosy little downtown apartment. All of a sudden she felt herself being unable to breathe, feeling

an overwhelming sense of claustrophobia. She tried to sit up but she just hit her head hard on

something above her, which covered the whole of her body. She started to kick and wriggle, but

with all her might she couldnt move. She screamed and punched, tears streaming down her facebut whatever was above her was not going to budge. She was fighting for air, her throat was going

dry. As she started to give up hope she heard a noise which sounded something like wood scraping.

She saw a tiny speck of light at the bottom by her feet, then a bit more and soon her whole vision

was blinded by light. It took a while to focus and adjust. The light was not the warm sun beaming

through a large window but lots of candles burning in a dusty room. As she controlled her breathing

she found the energy to sit up in the box which she was lying in.

Just as her head reached the edge of the box she noticed the sight which she would never forget,

although she didnt seem afraid anymore. Instead, she simply climbed out of whatever she was in

and walked slowly over to the dark figure in the centre of a large, candle filled room. She noticed

there was no windows and no gap in any wall which allowed anything form the ouside world to peer

in. All there was was a door on the other side of the room which was locked from top to bottom,

also with a large plank of wood bolted on either side of it.

When she reached the man with the jet black hair and sharp white teeth she didnt say a word, she

didnt attempt to run, scream or even talk. The man stared down at her with his deep hypnotising

eyes and smiled.Hello my love. You have finally awoken! The vampire stood completely still, like a statue but said

nothing more. Mindy smirked and tilted her neck to one side. The vampire still stared down at her,

    not saying a word.

Her neck had two small puncture wounds with a trickle of blood escaping form each hole. Still, the

vampire stared down at Mindy, almost with admiration, before he parted his blood stained lips,

baring his long sharp teeth then lunged at her slender neck. She let out a satisfied sigh, falling into

    the vampires arms.

Its past one-thirty and Mindy is still not home! Have you seen her? Mindys boyfriend, Vincent

DeBouire, was talking to one of Mindys work colleagues.

Shes not home yet? She left before I did and I left at one. Have you called the police?By this time, Vincent was getting ver worried. At first he thought she might of gone straight to her

mothers house. She would normally come straight home but tonight she worked later than usual.

As far as Vincent knew the latest she had worked was eleven oclock but tonight there was a major

party on and she had to stay behind to clean it up, and the rest of the work a bar maid has to do.

Vincent thought about calling Mindys mother but noticed it was too late. He said goodbye to Julie

    and hung up the phone.

He walke over to the window that over looked the shops and the busy main street looking around,

hoping to see Mindy walking home safely.

He stayed looking out the window for another fifteen minutes. When the clock chimed twice behind

him he couldnt wait anymore, the worry was unbearable so decided to call Mindys mother. He

would much rather wake her at this hour than sitting around scared with all sorts of visions going

around in his head.He marched straight over to the phone and dialled the number. He knew hell get in trouble but as

this moment he didnt care, hed much rather know that she was safe.

The phone rang and rang until the answering machine picked up.

Hi Pauline, I know its late but I really have to know if Mindy is there with you! At this point the

phone was picked up, by Mindy.

Hi, why are you phoning so late? You know what Mothers like!

Oh, thank God! Vincent sighed with over joyed relief to be hearing her voice. I know honey but I

was really worried about you. I just needed to find out if you were alright!

Im fine. Go to bed, Ill see you tomorrow, then he heard the low hummjing sound of the phone,

    then hung up himself.

Vincent started over to the bedroom, thinking of how relieved he was to hear her voice. Only one

thing bothered him. Out of the two years they had been together she had never slammed the

phone down on him before, no matter what the situation. He pushed it to the back of his mind then

    went to bed.

The next morning when Vincent woke he had forgotten all about the drama that occurred the night

before. He rolled over to hug his beloved but felt nothing. He forced his eyes to open, when they

did he saw no one lying beside him. He laid back to think, then remembered the situation last night.

He was startled by the loud beeping of the alarm clock. He turned to the cluttered bed side table

and turned off the alarm. Noticing the time, he smiled, thinking how lucky he was not to be going to

work today or for the next week.

He climbed out of comfy double bed and reached for his dressing gown at the end of the bed. He

flung the gown over his shoulders, forcing his arms through the sleeves before turning to open the

curtains. When he opened them, he was struck by the sun beaming down, blinding him for a few

seconds.Making his way to the next room to turn on the shower he realised just how alone he was. At this

point, most mornings, the apartment would normally be bustling with noise. Both, Mindy and

himself, would be wondering the house getting ready for the day ahead. They would be discussing

who would be taking the first shower then racing to the bathroom to brush their teeth. Mindy

wouldve made the coffee and breakfast by now, which would be waiting for him on the kitchen

table when he got out the shower. Vincent always had a shower first so he could go to work, Mindy

worked night shifts but still wanted to get up early to start her day.

Thinking about their daily routines made him realise how much he misses her, so he decided to call

her. Hopefully she would still be at her mothers, sitting down for breakfast.

Just before he got to the phone in the kitchen Mindy walked through the door, closing it quietly

behind her, thinking he might still be asleep.

He raced to where she stood and closed his arms around her waist, picking her up off the ground. After he put her down and kissed her gently on the lips he noticed how awful she was looking. The

look on Mindys face told him she knew what he was thinking.

I know I look terrible. Its because Im still wearing the same clothes as last night, when I was

working. Mindy passed Vincent, walking into the bathroom and locking the door behind her. He

watched her with bewilderment. A coffee was what they both needed. He grabbed the kettle, filled

it with water putting it back to boil. He started making two mugs of coffee. Waiting for the water to

boil, he leant against the work top and his mind started to wonder. She never normally locks the

door while shes in the shower, she normally leaves the door wide open.

    Was he imagining all this?

When the coffees were made he took them to the kitchen table placed them in front of each chair

then slowly slumped into one of them. He began drinking his coffee when the phone rang. He let it

ring for a couple of seconds before getting up to answer it.Hello! He mumbled into the receiver.

Hello Vincent, its Mark, another one of Mindys workmates. Vincent thought for a moment.

Oh, hi ya Mark. How are you? He asked, just making conversation. He was still thinking about

Mindy. He still thought he was over reacting a bit, but something still niggled at him about her

    behaviour.

Im fine, just seeing if Mindy was home. Is she alright? Mark was getting quite worried about her

after he was told about her little disappearance last night, but Vincent put him at ease.

Yes, shes fine. She slept at her mothers last night, it was closer than here. I suppose she just didnt

feel safe enough coming all this way. She is home now though, you dont have to worry!

Ok, Vincent could here the relieved sigh. Good! He paused for a while.

Tell her Ill see her tonight. Im taking Sharons shift. Shes not well or something.

Alright mate, Ill let her know. Catch ya later! He hung up the phone without waiting for a reply.

He thought it a little rude but he had other things on his mind.

He stood there for a minute or so, then wlked over to the bathroom door. He tapped once, then

twice, by the third tap she answered.

Im taking a shower. What do you want? Mindy yelled over the heavily spraying water.

Are you alright honey? Vincent yelled back, hoping she would hear him. He was about to repeat

    himself when she shouted back.

Im fine, Im in the shower. I wont be long.

    4/28

Theres some coffee on the table for you, hurry up before it gets cold, ok? He waited a while but

there was no reply, so he repeated himself, only a little louder this time.

Alright, I wont be long! She snapped.

Vincent walked away, going back to the kitchen to finish off his own coffee before it got cold. He

picked up the still steaming coffee and strolled over to the television before sitting on the sofa. He

flipped the channels for a while before deciding to stick on a documentary about wildlife. He sat on

the one seated sofa and sipped the rest of his coffee.

Fifteen minutes passed before Mindy came out of the bathroom. She had her long dressing gown

on, tied tightly round her body and her hair wrapped in her personnel bathroom towel.

For some reason she has always had this one towel of her very own that she would not let anyone

    else use, even Vincent.

By one oclock that afternoon, they were both dressed, they had eaten breakfast but hadnt really

talked much. Mindy had made her third cup of coffee in two hours when normally she would just

have the one in the morning to get her day going. Hen the rest of the day she would drink tea or ice

    cold orange squash.

By this point, Vincent didnt know if it was her acting differently for whatever reason or him actingsuspiciously. If she did this normally he wouldnt have noticed but everything she did this day

    seemed different.

I hope it is me being sillyhe thought.

He came to the conclusion that it was probably him, it was only because she slept out last night and

the realisation of how much he loves her and missed her just got to him a little too much. She

hadnt slept round her mothers for at least seven and a half months. He couldnt over think this

anymore, it was beginning to give him a headache, so he was determined to push it to the back of

his mind or just forget about it altogether.

A couple more hours passed and she seemed to be fine, acting normally, not snapping or trying to

get away form him. Vincent had forgotten about his paranoia. It seemed like a regular day again.

They talked, had a few laughs, which they always did when they were both home together. Nothing

more entered his mind about that morning, things felt back to normal, until nine oclock that night.Shouldnt you be getting ready for work? Youre gonna be late! Vincent proposed.

Im ready now, she replied, walking towards the door.

    You cant go wearing that!

Why not? I feel comfortable. Mindy looked down at herself. She had faded black jeans with her

old baggy polo neck that she had had for years. It seemed a little odd that she thought this would be

ok for going to work, she normally wore dressy things like short black skirt or trousers with a smart,

sparkly top finished off with her polished black boots.

Wheres your skirt and polished boots?

Whats wrong with what Im wearing? She looked down again, at her worn out plimsoles. She

looked back to Vincent, who was now standing directly in front of her. He knew he should never

question a womans dress sense but he also knew that what she wearing was her tidying the

apartment clothes, although she hadnt today.

You know youll be sent home to change. If you start wearing clothes like that to work youll be

sacked. You know what your boss is like? She flashed him a dirty look and stormed out of the

apartment, slamming the door violently behind her. Now he felt confused and completely

gobsmacked that she was acting this way. Now he felt she wasnt herself, what had gotten into her?

He took a deep breath then raced out the door after her. She had already raced down the three

flights of stairs and out of the building. Racing after her, he thought he would stop her and talk

calmly, instead of starting an argument that meant she wouldnt come home again tonight, then

realised she wasnt even heading in the right direction to be going to work. He followed her slyly for

a few blocks then through the park, where there were few lights, which made it harder to follow.

He carried on through the park, catching a glimpse of her running towards an old building which

looked like it would collapse if you sneezed near it.

He watched her to the rickety door then closing it behind her.

He strolled casually to the tall front gates, not attempting to enter the premises. Standing

motionless, watching and scanning the old building for signs of life or shadows passing the windows. He squinted to look in the darkness but he could swear blind that he noticed a shadow pass the

dusty windows. Hes instincts told him to call Mindys name, but then another shadow passed right

    after.

The second, larger, shadow went to the first shadow and they walked away together. He wondered

what was going on inside. He thought back to the strange day, remembering the strange actions at

    the apartment.

He began to walk away, thinking of all the strange things Mindy had and hadnt done.

When he finally reached the door to the untidy apartment he realised he must have left the door

open after he ran after Mindy, although he didnt care right now. Instead he just entered and closed

    the door behind him.

As he sat on the one seated sofa, still thinking about Mindys behaviour, he was startled by the high

tone of the telephone ringing. He still sat there, letting the telephone ring and ring. After twominutes the ringing stopped, but then started ringing again, so this time he stood up and went to

    answer it.

Yeah! Vincent sighed into the receiver.

Hi, has Mindy left for work yet? It was the unmistakable deep tone of her boss, Martin. Vincent

thought for a while before answering.

Um, no sorry. She wont be coming in today.

    And why not?

Shes really quite sick today, she cant make it in. He lied.

If thats the case, why didnt you call and let me know. I could have found a replacement! He

    declared, angrily.

Well, I was busy looking after Mindys welfare. I would have called when I had the chance. He

hoped Martin would buy his little lie. At first, Martins outburst got to him. What if Mindy was reallyill? All he cared about was his work. Then he remembered the real reason then realised Martin was

right, it would have been nice if he was told what was going on.

Martin had slammed the phone down, not caring to hear any more excuses.

Vincent replaced the receiver and sighed.

What an asshole! He said out loud. Vincent hardly ever swore but he found in this case, it was an

exception. He never really liked Martin anyway.

Mindy had been working at the Coolers Bar for a whole year and had only been off work twice and

both times it wasnt her fault. She did need some time off work, not if shes ill but to relax, she

needed a break. She works there six nights a week and even on her day off she will clean the house

or be running round to her mothers to help her with something or another. He has never really

known her to just sit back and relax, she prefers to be running around doing something, keeping

    busy.

Thinking how hard she works and how much he wants to help her, bought him back to the reality of

his situation, the shadows in the old building opposite the park.

He thought about it all night before drifting off into a disturbing sleep. When he awoke, he carried

on thinking about it until he came to a conclusion that she must be seeing another man. He wanted

it to be anything else but that.

    She was cheating on him!

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    6/28

After being with each other for this long, two years, she has started to see a mysterious man who

lives in a crappy old house thats about to fall down. Shes having an affair.

Why? He thought, Why is she doing this to me?

A single tear fell from his bloodshot tired eyes and landed on his lap.

After an hour of feeling lonely, sad, betrayed and very much upset, he started to fell angry. His

throat went dry and his feeling towards Mindy started to change from betrayed love to hatred.

He grabbed his coat and keys before storming off towards the door. He had only one thought in hismind now, what will he do when he finds her?

He raced up the streets, which were blossoming into an early morning. Cars were starting to drive

away from the houses, setting off to work.

He raced through the park, where the kids were making their way off to school. He reached the tall

gets of the rickety old house, slightly out of breath. The house seemed different now that the sun

was out and sparkling down on everything. It still seemed old and rickety but now it looked kind of

magical. He felt hot and sweaty, not knowing if it was from the running, the sun or the adrenaline

rushing through his body. He was still standing at the tall, cobwebbed gates, looking up at the dusty

window where he saw the shadows the night before, one smaller one that he hoped was Mindy and

the second larger shdow she walked away with.

No shadows appeared at any of the windows. He pushed open the rusty gates which creaked and

scraped the ground until there was enough of a gap for him to squeeze through. When he reached the door he pondered on whether to knock and wait for the guy to answer before

knocking his lights out or to kick open the splintery wooden door and rescue his princess. He still

couldnt believe that she would cheat on him with a guy that lived in a place like this. He obviously

didnt have any money or he would have fixed this place up. Then again, it could just be a meeting

place where one of the rooms is actually decorated nicely, like a three star hotel room.

It took a couple of quick hard kicks to budge the door enough to get inside. What ever this place

was, whoever was here would know they had a visitor by now, so he didnt want to waste any time.

When he got inside, he looked around bewildered and yet bisgusted by the state of the place. How

dark and very dusty. He saw cobwebs everywhere. In every corner, draped across the walls and

door frames. It was amazing that when you see a place like this you see tons of cobwebs, plenty of

spiders but no other insects or creepy crawlies. Walking carefully around, through the long hallways,

he was amazed that this old building still had charctr. The walls were still in tact, hardly any cracks. The ceiling was still there and so were the stairs. There was still a chandelier on the very high ceiling

which still seemed to have its glory and shine.

After fifteen minutes of looking around he noticed he heard no one running to find out what the big

bangs were at the front door.

Hed already had a good look downstairs so he made his way up the creaky stairs to the next floor.

Making his way slowly up the stairs he noticed the windows were blocked with planks of wood,

realising this must be an abandoned house it was probably necessary, so he thought no more of it.

He stopped at the top o the stairs to take a deep breath and to gather himself. He felt his heart

begin to race. He began to feel weary of where he was and what might happen. Would he actually

    find her here?

He saw nothing on the second floor, yet downstairs he noticed tables, cobweb filled vases, chairs

and rotted smelly carpet but on this landing there was nothing, even the rooms had nothing in them.

The floor was just rotted wood and looked as though it could collapse so decided not to chance

being there too long he made his way to a third floor. On his way up the stairs he noticed the door

at the very top was closed and bolted. A few steps were missing so as carefully as he could he

stepped over the gaps ands cautiously carried on. When he made it to the secured bolted door he

wasnt sure what to do. Should he knock? Should he try kicking it? Either option seemed ridiculous.

He tried ramming it with his arms but after a few attempts he knew he was going to budge it and it

    only hurt anyway.

He turned and sat on the step to rest. After a couple of minutes he thought he heard some creaking.

He strained to listen to where it could be coming from. The step underneath him began to give way.

It was too late to panic, the step broke and he fell a far nine feet to the landing below. Everything

    went black.

When Vincent opened his eyes, the sight he saw was kind of magical. He was looking up at Mindys

beautiful face which seemed like she was glowing. Her green eyes were sparkling and her

    complexion was flawless.

He tried to sit up but couldnt manage it. Mindy was smiling down at him looking happy and

content. He thought that everything that happened was just a dream. He tried to sit up again, his

back was in a lot of pain, his trousers were torn and dried blood was stained on his hands. He lifted

his arms to give her a hug but she pulled back. Her whole expression had changed, she wasnt

smiling anymore. Vincent became puzzled. What was going on?

Whats the matter? Whats going on? Vincent was close to tears, he felt himself welling up.

    Mindy started stepping back further.

He struggled through the pain and sat up, swinging his legs off of what seemed like a big chest. His

feet found the ground. He was startled by a noise coming from behind him. He spun round dizzily, knocking his knee on the chest, his whole leg trembling and throbbing.

He was facing the worst horror film ever, being face to face with a guy that could only be described

    as Dracula.

    Hello Vincent! He said coolly.

He had the long black cape cascading over his shoulders with a red silk trim, he wore the black

clothes and the black slicked black hair with white complexion was the finishing touch. The only

thing that was missing was the long white fangs.

Come on now, is this some sort of game? Vincent turned to look at Mindy but she wasnt there

anymore. He swiftly turned back to Dracula but he had vanished too. He now stood alone.

What the hell is going on? He cried. Im outta here. He stumbled over to a door, pulling and

pushing it but he knew it wouldnt move, he knew it had to be locked. He turned and leaned against

the door, confused, scared and very much alone.Looking around he noticed all the windows were boarded up in here too, the only thing that was

lighting the room were lots and lots of candles. There were long ones, short fat ones and the

majority of the floor was covered in wax. He could make out a door at the other end of the room.

As he ran over to that door, barely feeling the pain that was seething through his body, he noticed

two coffin shaped chests in one corner of the room with a long table opposite them. Apart from the

table, the two chests and the candles there was nothing else in the large room.

When he reached the doorhe searched frantically for a lock or barrier that would stop him from

escaping, he didnt want to cause himself any more damage.

Just as he was about to push it open he heard something or someone behind him. Quickly spinning

he scanned the room but found nothing. He began pushing the door again then heard the same

noise. He was beginning to feel completely freaked out. He didnt want to run again but his

impulses took over. Scanning the room again he could just make out a shadow behind one of the

    coffins, crouching and hiding.

Whos there? Did he really want to ask that question? He strained his eyes to see what was

lurking back there but the dim lights of the candles was making it impossible.

Whos there? He asked again, in a quivering tone. He took a few slow steps towards the coffin.

A head slowly appeared above the coffin although he couldnt see anything apart from the outline of

    a head.

Taking another step forward, focusing some more, the person stood up and started moving towards

Vincent. They both moved slowly towards each. Vincent stopped short, amazed that he actually

knew this person. It being Martin, Mindys boss, from the Coolers Bar.

What are you doing here? In a relieved tone, feeling himself relax a little. Martin looked as scared

    as he did.

I dont know! I fell over at work tidying after hours, knocked myself out then I woke up here, laying

in a coffin. I havent a clue whats going on. He looked around, eyes full of fright, almost shaking. What about you? Vincent was about to explain when a door creaked open and in walked Mindy

    with the vampire.

Mindy are you alright? Vincent called, but Mindy didnt answer. She stayed next to the vampire,

smiled then looked up at him. This made Vincent really mad, especially now that that vampire had

his arm draped over her shoulder. Mindy seem to mind, it made her smile broaden. Vincent wanted

to run over and jump on him but Martin had a good grip on his arm, holding him back.

Dont be stupid Vincent, hell be a lot stronger than you. As much as that hurt Vincents male

pride he knew he was right, so he stood there with and angry look plastered on his face although he

felt his body was crumbling with heart ache.

Whats going on? Why do you want us? Please, just let us go! He could tell Martin was trying to

be brave but the grip he had on him was getting tighter.

No, youre mine now! The Vampire took his arm away from Mindys shoulders and startedwalking towards the trembling men. Vincent stood his ground, there was no where to run anyway.

Martin began to tremble but stood his ground with Vincent. He knew he had to face up to what the

vampire was going to do. Martin kept a firm grip on Vincents arm.

The vampire stopped just inches from Vincents face and smiled, he could feel his warm breath on

his face, wincing form the smell.

Vincent noticed his fangs begin to grow, he knew something bad was about to happen. Vincents

anger soon vanished and he turned white with fright. He tried to take a step back but Martin was

holding on to him and he wasnt going to budge. He was so frightened he was frozen. The vampire

    laughed, a hearty laugh.

Theres no way out of here, you know that! The vampire started to step back. Vincent could see

Mindy over the vampires shoulder, still with a smile on her pale face.

Come on Martin, weve got to at least try to get out of here. Vincent turned to Martin, he also hada smile on his face. Vincent tried to pull his arm out of Martins grip but he was holding too tight.

What was going on? Everyone seems to be turning against me!

He couldnt really do much but wait to see what was going to happen. Mindy walked briskly up to

Vincent in a long white flowey dress, still with a smile on her face but now with long fangs.

Could things get any worse? He thought.

As Mindy was at arms length he felt Martin loosen his grip. He knew what he had to do and the

thought sent hatred for himself through his body. He pulled his arm free from martins loosened

grip, pushed Mindy back against the vampire and ran past them to the door they so carelessly left

    open on their entry.

When he reached the door he had to look back to Mindy for the last time, but found all three of

them marching towards him. He ran through the door, struggling to push the door closed before

they got there. They were a few feet away when the door finally boomed shut. He had to find a

quick way out but it was difficult in a house this size and not knowing which room he woke up in.

There were no stairs, no other doors he could see, all the windows were boarded up and just a long

thin hallway that stretched out in front of him.

He heard banging on the other side of the door so he shot off down the corridor. He felt like he was

running forever, the hallway never seemed to end. He wasnt sure if it was the strain on his battered

leg or if the hallway was getting steeper but hes legs were seriously starting to ache. A door

appeared in sight ahead of him. Once again, another locked door. Footsteps were echoing through

    9/28

the hall, getting louder. There was a door either side of him luckily one of them was ajar. He had to

force the door open, it was scraping against the uneven floor boards.

He squeezed through the gap and pushed it closed as quietly as he could, so they couldnt detect

which door he had gone through.

He leaned against the door to make it harder to open, listening to the footsteps get louder and

    louder until they stopped.

He listened intently, trying to control his breathing and racing heart beat. It was silent for a fewseconds before the first pound almost knocked him off his feet.

He knew he wasnt going to be strong enough to hold them off for long. He scanned the room to see

if there was anything that would help him. There was another coffin! Situated in the middle of the

room. He also saw a window, thankfully this one was not boarded up, which he thought strange but

    didnt want to question why.

He quickly went over to the window but wouldnt open. He heard a loud thud. One of them had

made a hole in the door so he knew he didnt have long, so he tried pushing the coffin over to the

door, but as he knew, he couldnt move it. The next best thing was to put the lid of the coffin in

front of the door, maybe that would hold them off so he could break the window and climb out.

He pulled up the lid with sweaty hands. A breeze escaped from the coffin, a very musky breeze.

Looking into the coffin he stairs a tiny staircase that led down.

By this point he could see the malicious faces of Martin and the vampire so he jumped into thecoffin, twisting his ankle on the first step which made him fall. He tumbled down the stairs, scraping

his elbows on the walls and banging his head on every step when it bought him to where he first

started. He ran for the door, which thankfully was not locked and bolted, it was still ajar from when

he kicked the door in earlier. He ran out into the darkness, running through a forest of tall weeds,

pushing his way through bushes and brambles, not caring about the scratches to his face and hands.

He kept running until he saw an opening which gave him hope.

He ran through the opening and found himself in the park. Feeling a lot better knowing where he

was, he ran straight back to the apartment, running three steps at a time, locking and bolting his

door although now knowing he was safe.

He fell onto the sofa, trying to catch his breath. His body was trembling with exhaustion. He laid still

until he felt the feeling come back in his legs. He then noticed how badly his hands were scratched,

his clothes were torn and blood stained, his face was stinging with cuts and salty sweat. He knew a shower would sort him out. He knew he didnt have to run anymore, so he slowly went

to the bathroom and turned on the shower. He felt the water turn warm almost straight away and

    felt heavenly.

He looked in the mirror and saw the cuts and blood on his face. The horrid stench of sweat and

blood filled the room. There was another smell that over powered the smell of blood and sweat.

His heart almost jumped out of his throat when both arms were grabbed from behind, the smell was

a lot worse than his own.

He heard the chuckle of the vampire, he knew he might as well give up, he knew he couldnt keep

    running, he was too exhausted.

You know you cant run from me. We will always find you no matter where you hide. Vincent

couldnt fight them any more, he knew he would never be safe anymore.

Just kill me and get it over with. You have already taken the most important thing in my life, he

looked at Mindy who was standing behind the vampire, no longer with a smile on her face.

I have nothing worth living for! Vincent turned his head to the side, revealing his tanned pulsating

    neck.

Vincents eyes stayed on Mindy. He noticed a tear trickle down her more colourful cheeks. The

corner of her mouth tilted to a trying smile.

Maybe his love for her could change her back! He thought.

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    10/28

His neck was still bent and the vampires white fangs were getting closer and closer, he could feel the

warmth of his breath on his neck.

He was held onto too tight and the vampires fangs were on his neck, he could feel the pressure of

his fangs about to pierce him. He closed his eyes and waited for it all to end, actually finding himself

wondering what it was going to be like living as a vampire.

He heard a crash, he felt himself being pulled down then he heard a thud. He opened his eyes and

surprised to see the vampire kneeling on the floor with his head bent. Mindy and Martin werestanding in the doorway of the bathroom. He didnt know what happened but he knew he didnt

have time to stand around wondering but how would he get past the other two. He looked straight

to Martin and dived at him, knocking him on his back. He has always wanted to have a go at him but

felt he couldnt because it was Mindys boss and he didnt want her to lose her job. Now he had his

opportunity he was going to go for it. He punched him once in the face and it felt good, he went to

go for the second one when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He spun not expecting to See Mindy

with a bit of colour in her cheeks and a smile for him. Although he couldnt resist it he still gave

Martin another good whack before getting off him, wearily. He stood a few feet away from her, not

knowing if it was another trick. He could never really know for sure. He looked into her eyes and he

could see it was the real Mindy shining through. A real smile just for him. Before he had a chance to

move, Mindy threw herself at him throwing her arms around his neck and holding him very tightly,

just like the Mindy he used to know. He closed his arms around her and felt like the happiest guy inthe world. His woman was back in his arms.

They ran out of the apartment, to the stairs then came across another locked door. They pushed but

it was definitely locked and not stuck. Feeling silly in an emergency to get away from their

apartment they had to wait for the elevator. Vincent pushed the button and they both waited

impatiently. It didnt take long for the doors to open, seeming as it was just a five story building, it

didnt seem necessary to have an elevator. Inside the elevator were two other people. They quickly

went inside and pushed the button to go to the ground floor.

Vincent was trying not to fidget nervously. Just before the elevator door closed a hand pushed the

doors back open. Vincents heart skipped a beat and he held Mindys hand tighter, knowing whose

faces would appear. It was the vampire pulling the doors open with Martin standing behind him

with a black eye that Vincent was proud of declaring.

Blood was trickling down the vampires face from a cut to his head with whatever Mindy hit himwith. They both walked in, watched the doors close and waited for the elevator to reach the bottom

    floor.

On the slow journey downwards Martin positioned himself next to taller, buffer Vincent where the

vampire was next to Mindy, her face looking uneasy and dazed. The transformation between Mindy

being normal and her being a vampire was taking its toll. She looked weak, her eyes almost

colourless, her frame slumped but her hand holding onto Vincents was tight, looking for safety.

The two other people who was also in the squashed elevator was oblivious to anything different.

From their points of view all they could see was a tall unwell looking man whos had a little accident,

noticing the trickle of blood dried to his face. Seeing Mindy as a woman who must be in the middle

    of her cycle.

The elevator reached the ground floor and the doors opened very slowly, all the while the tall

    vampire smirking down at Vincent.

The two vampires walked out of the elevator waiting for Mindy and Vincent to follow. Vincent and

Mindy followed, with the other couple impatiently pushing past. The doors began to close and the

vampires were turning to walk so seeing a chance he dragged Mindy back into the elevator, leaving

the vampire and Martin in the lobby.

Just as the doors bumped closed, Vincent made out the angry face of the vampire.

He pushed the button for floor five and the elevator started up. Vincent knew he didnt have long to

think. He looked over at Mindy who was not looking too good. Her skin was white against the silver

metal inside the elevator and the dark circles under her eyes made her look very fragile. Her lips

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    11/28

looked blood red and he could tell her fangs were beginning to grow and her facial features slowly

changing into someone he didnt like. Her face looked ghostly white and her face almost squashed.

Her nails looked old and brown compared to her once manicured ones. Her hands looked old and

wrinkly. He knew she was changing back, but why?

Her lips curled into a demonic smile and she took a step towards him. She reached out with one

crooked finger and pushed the emergency stop button and the elevator jolted to a stop. Vincent

grabbed her shoulders at arms length to keep her from getting any closer. In a tiny elevator, she wasalmost right in front of him already. She pushed his arms away and grabbed a handful of hair.

Vincent winced but made no attempt to stop her. He looked her straight in the eyes and waiting for

    her next move.

She yanked his head to one side, thumping his head on the wobbly metal frame of the elevator.

He thought frantically for an escape. Just as she was approaching his bare flesh, it sprung to him

that she kept changing back. But for what reason, he didnt know, but remembering earlier, in the

apartment, she changed when he spoke about his love for her.

He forced a smile and tried to forget about the pain in his neck and the handful of hair she had a

    bloody good grip on.

I know you dont really want to kill me Mindy, we both know you still love me. Vincent watched

her face for any kind of change.

Maybe that isnt enough, he thought. She had stopped but she still looked hungry.

Mindy, you know I love you very much. We can go far in life. Get married, and some children . . .

Something twitched in her face so something must be working.

We could have a girl that looks just like you, we can call her Sarah, and a boy called Jason. We

could take them swimming after school and . . . . . her face slowly returned back to normal.

The way her eyes were changing to their lovely, but dull, colour.

He gave her the best loving glare that he could. He felt her hands get weaker around his red neck.

The circulation of blood were running through his neck and face, like a crowd of people pushing their

way onto a crowded train at rush hour.

Mindys arms collapsed, as did the rest of her body, unable to stop herself from collapsing onto the

dirty metal floor of the elevator. Her features returning but she still looked very weak.

Mindy, are you alright? Vincent asked, bending slowly to her limp body, wary of her reaction.

Vincent reached for her wrist to check her pulse just as Mindys head turned to face him. She lookeddrained, although she looked a lot better than what she did a couple of minutes ago. Every time she

changed she seemed to be getting weaker. Not only was the woman he loved changing form and

getting weaker they still had vampires after them. Could anyone else say they were having a bad

    day?

Are you alright? His eyes were full of worry and his voice just a whisper. Mindy reached for the

back of her head. She landed with an almighty thud for a petite woman.

Yeah, I think. She tried to sit up. I feel a bit sick.

Lets get out of here! He helped her up slowly, while she was still holding the back of her head.

She was unsteady on her feet and he knew he would have to almost carry her to where ever they

    went.

He pushed the emergency stop button to start up the elevator again. As they reached the fifth floor

Vincent braced himself to what was waiting on the other side. He had no where to run. Mindy was

light but carrying her after a while would start to get tiresome. He sighed when there was no one in

sight. Which also made him fear where they were. Were they waiting and hiding getting ready to

    pounce? Had they given up?

He poked his head out the door just in case. He sighed but didnt relax. He grabbed Mindy firmly,

her arm over his shoulders. As they approached their front door, he scuttled in all pockets to find his

    keys.

    Damn it!

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    12/28

Theres a spare key on top of the door. Mindy mumbled, peakish but normal. He reached on top

of the door frame but could only find mounds of dust.

Are you sure? Vincent didnt like the situation. A missing key when there was vampires after

    them.

Well have to go to your mothers. He turned back towards the elevator, with Mindy still hanging

on but loosening. She was losing energy fast. He pushed the button and waited.

It seemed ridiculous. Being in a hurry, feeling exhausted, carrying someone who could barely stayupright, being chased by vampires yet having to wait patiently for an elevator. He felt like he had

been waiting for hours, but five minutes later the elevator arrived, also taking its time to open its

doors. Then there they were. Two angry vampires stood there, didnt move, just waiting for them

both to enter. He knew he couldnt keep running. They always seemed to be there. He sighed and

dragged both him and Mindy into the elevator. He thought about pressing another floor button but

he wouldnt be able to get away fast enough with Mindy as weak as she was. The two vampires

would show up wherever they went. It was fighting a lost battle. He felt a weight being lifted from

his shoulders. Not just for the panic of trying to get away but Mindy now standing on her own two

feet but still with an arm round his shoulders. She was holding him for safety. She almost didnt

have a clue what was going on. Vincent didnt know when or if she was going to change back which

made him uneasy. Would he have to hurt Mindy to try and get away? The thought of hurting her to

save himself seemed selfish and he would rather die than have to live with that thought for the restof is life.

Vincent had watched a lot of Dracula films but didnt know if any of the tales worked. He knew the

love talk couldnt work forever. She couldnt live in that state for the rest of her life. Was it a stake

through the heart? Or was that a myth? He knew a silver bullet was for werewolves, but did it work

on vampires too? Did he have to chop off their head or remove their heart? Was it direct sunlight?

Did he have to kill the one that bit her? The thought of it being Martin that he would have to kill

almost made him smile. He was too confused to think straight. He knew he had to try something.

When you watch a horror film you always seem to know what to do. Shouting at the telly not to run

up the stairs, dont go and see what that noise is. In reality he was stuck and confused and couldnt

    think straight.

Vincent glared at the vampires keeping them captive. Where were they going to take him? Was he

going to be sacrificed and be turned into a vampire? Which one of them was going to do it? Was heever going to be able to escape?

The elevator stopped in the ground floor with another jolt. The four of them stepped out and

walked out the doors and back to the castle of doom. It was now light outside and the streets were

getting busy with people heading off to work, something Vincent would rather be doing right now.

He never thought he would rather be going to work any day.

Looking around, he noticed that some peoples expressions seemed empty, like they didnt have a

care in the world. If only they knew who was walking among them this sunny morning.

Vincent looked at the vampires, realising they werent turning to sand or bursting into flames

because of the sunlight. They seemed like everyday people going about their business. Its amazing

what you find out in real life. After a slow walk through the park they finally reached the gloomy old

building that even looked scary in the day light.

Vincent wondered why people were walking past this building and not know what went on inside.

Maybe they all vampires? He didnt know what was real anymore.

The vampire pushed them inside. Mindy seemed scared, clutching onto Vincent for dear life. They

were pushed all the way through the dusty corridors and hidden passageways, that seemed cleaner

than the rest of the ancient house. They were finally pushed into a room that Vincent hadnt been in

    before.

The door was shut behind them, but the vampires were no where to be seen.

Im scared Vince. Whats going on? Vincent turned to Mindy who was nearly close to tears. He

put his arms comfortingly around her shoulders.

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    13/28

Its alright honey, I promise I wont leave you. He grabbed her shoulders and turned her towards

him so she knew to look at him. He looked deep into her eyes and said as calmly as possible.

I wont let anything happen to you, understand! She bent her head, as to agree. As her head rose

and he could see her face again, she was back to vampire mode.

Vincent pushed her back as softly as he could without her falling to the stony ground. Even though

she was a blood sucking vampire he still didnt want to hurt her.

Laughter echoed around him a vampire began appearing in every corner of the room. Vincentbacked off towards the door. When he got to the door, he tested the handle to see if the vampires

had carelessly left this door unlocked. They hadnt. He looked around to see if there was any way

    out.

There was no glass windows visible, no open top coffins that might lead to secret stairways or even

trap doors or magic walls that he could see from where he stood.

It seemed like there was definitely anywhere to run.

    Yep, Im doomed, he thought.

The five vampires in the room began closing in on him, including Mindy. There was one on either

side of him and two more in front of him. Mindy stood in the middle of the room, with a smirk that

looked full of hatred. He was almost surrounded, they had almost closed in on him, when there was

a loud bang which came from somewhere in the building, which sounded like a gun shot. It seemed

to have really spooked the vampires because hey had all vanished, leaving only himself and Mindy inthe room, and she looked pretty startled herself.

A minute passed in complete silence, which actually made Vincent more uncomfortable.

The smirk re-appeared on Mindys face and looking around, he noticed the vampires had also re-

appeared out of no where and closing in on him again.

He made another attempt at the handle behind him, hoping something had changed. The four

hungry vampires lunged at him, getting him to the hard stone ground and pining him down. Vincent

tried to struggle, but he knew if he couldnt get Mindy off him in her new form, he had no chance

with four man vampires. Mindy started to walk slowly towards him. Her fangs were now visible and

her claw like fingers were edging towards Vincents head.

He knew he couldnt just lie there. The vampires were hurting his legs and arms by pining him down,

but he still tried with all his might to break free. Squirming and wriggling. If he was going to be

turned into a monster, hed rather it not be done by Mindy. Please Mindy, no! Mindy did not blink to his pleas, it seemed to make her hungrier. Her smile

widened her teeth seemed longer and her eyes were very evil. She was almost growling at him.

She climbed on top of him, quite seductively, although looking a lot worse close up. Her face looked

old and wrinkly, her teeth were gleaming and she didnt attempt to wipe the drool cascading from

    her mouth.

Nothing spooked them and Mindy certainly didnt stop. He heard the piercing of his skin and she

was sucking hard at his neck. At first he felt sad, angry and in pain, but those feelings quickly faded

and then felt alive, stronger and very hungry. He hated to admit it to himself but he felt great. More

alive than he has ever been, even the best night of sex couldnt compare it. This was a whole new

side of him that he had never felt before, but he liked it.

The vampires released their grip, stood up and watched the change in him. It was a spectacular sight

for the vampires. Watching a new member to their club being formed.

Mindy had stopped sucking and was now standing, watching with delight as blood trickled down her

chin. She wiped her chin then held her hand out to help him off the floor.

As Vincent gradually got to his feet, at first he was a little dizzy and light headed. His body seemed

lighter as though he had no inside motion going through his body. Everything became clearer

sound, sight, smell, feeling and taste.

Martin and the lead vampire appeared from somewhere looking very pleased that they finally had

    Vincent.

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    14/28

What do you think of the new you? Vincent said nothing for a while, he didnt know what to think.

He stood motionless for a minute.

I dont know. I guess I feel. . . . . He paused for a moment longer, then the realisation hit him.

Hungry! He looked at the lead vampire and smiled. It was probably the same smile he had seen

    the last couple days.

He ran his tongue over his teeth and felt the sharpness of his new fangs. He suddenly felt like he

knew everything. He now knew why the vampire, Martin and Mindy didnt turn into sand or burstinto flames when they were in day light. They still had the same human blood running through their

veins and as long as they suck on human blood they will be ok.

He definitely knew one thing for certain, he was going to be thirsty for blood and nothing else from

    this day forward.

Would you like to go hunting now, Vincent? The leading vampire asked, with a glowing red smile

pinned to his face. Vincent looked up at his master and smiled.

Lets hunt away. Where do we begin?

Before he knew it, when night fell, and everything was quiet and still, they began spreading

themselves, making vampires all over town, filing their never ending hunger.

The four vampires that held him down as his last few minutes of being human were alongsidethe

leading vampire, his new accomplice Martin and Mindy were running around town making more and

more people known to the half vampire extravaganza.Hours went by and they had hundreds more vampires loose in the city. Almost everyone in their

quiet town were now vampires, ruling the night.

Weeks passed and Vincent was doing the same thing every night. He wasnt sure if every vampire

felt this way but he was quite confused in this situation. He nearly always feels like his normal

human self unless hes suckng on some mortals neck, sucking the life, energy and soul out of

someone. He still feels like the same guy.

He doesnt think of the same things he used to but he has started to wonder about other things inlife. Thinking quite deep. Things like, why do mortals sleep at night and work through the day?

and Why do mortals need money when they can just take what they want? and the most

important thought he had ever had, even when he became a vampire, what is the meaning of

death? Will he ever figure out the answers to his new questions?

Vincent never thought he would like being a vampire but he would still like to know how he could kill

someone like him or even if he could ever return to his former human self. To go back to how his life

used to be with Mindy, in their apartment, going back to work and eat normal food again. He may

have changed the way his mind works but he knew there was certain things you should keep to

yourself. Asking a deadly question like that could mean a bloody great war.

As the flock of vampires lay in their coffins one bright sunny day a noise disturbed them from deep

inside the forbidden house. The leading vampire and Martin got startled but instead of fear their

emotions went straight to anger, the thought of someone entering their ancient world.

They left the coffin room and began a search, not knowing who they were looking for or what they

    were going to find.

As everyone else was dozing off, again, the most alarming sound came echoing through the house.

It was like a whistle but a much more higher note. Everyone jumped out of their coffins and started

towards the door. Vincent realised Mindy had already gone, so Vincent jumped out of his coffin and

followed the last person out of the room.

He thought he had been running for ages, darting in and out of trap doors and dark and tiny

hallways. Before long they reached a large room which Vincent remembered form his first visit.

    15/28

When he stopped he noticed he was fighting for breath, it was like he had only taken a couple of

steps, which made him smile. He stood taller than the other vampires but he still couldnt see what

    was going on.

Vincent! Vincent looked around to see where the shout had come from. Everyone turned to look

at him, waiting. He suddenly felt lost and confused. He wasnt quite sure what to do or where to go.

Vincent! The shout became louder and more aggressive.

    Yeah!Come forth.

Where? He felt like a child who had lost his mother. He felt everyone pulling at him and pushing

him forward. In front of him was an opening, when he reached it everyone stopped pushing and he

could then see what was going on. Martin and another vampire was struggling with two frightened

men, who still managed to keep them on their toes and the look that they would probably punch

anyone that stepped close to them, even though their hands were tied between their backs.

The leader stood behind the wriggling men with an amused expression on his ugly vampire face.

Vincent knew what he wanted him to do, no wonder he was looking amused, he didnt want to get

too close to these two men so he asked Vincent to do it for him.

The two vampires that were supposed to be holding them were getting pushed about but they never

let go. They forced the mens necks to a slant to reveal a very attractive neck. He could see the veins

and the blood which he found appealing, although his human side told him not to get close to theseguys.

Vincent began slowly towards them, the men looking more frightened. For some reason this made

him more hungry and very thirsty.

He jumped on the first man who had been pushed to the ground, and aimed his long, sharp teeth at

the defenceless mans neck. He heard the pierce then his mouth filled with rich blood. The taste

and the sensation was overwhelming. Every time he had sucked someones blood he felt the

satisfaction but for some reason this felt different. The feeling of him over powering strong blokes

that he would never normally mess with.

When he drew back, blood dripping down from the corners of his mouth, he looked down at the half

vampire. He was pleased he had converted another soul. The leader glaring at Vincent with

satisfaction, like a proud father. While the other guy was changing and realising his new self,

Vincent had already started on the second guy, tasting a different kind of blood.Martin and the other vampire was now free to release themselves from the two guys. Watching

with delight. Two more people on the list.

When he had finished, he pulled back and stood tall, lifting his arm to wipe his mouth on his sleeve.

Vincent looked around for Mindy. He caught a glimpse of her at the back of the crowd, looking more

    human than vampire.

When night finally fell, they headed back out on to the dark streets, in search of new fresh blood.

Mindy seemed to have slowed down and falling behind. Vincent, who was walking in the front with

the leader, fell back until Mindy was walking alongside him.

He looked at her drained face, she didnt look at all well, for a vampire anyway.

How long hadnt she eaten for?

Everyone knew that Vincent had become the leaders favourite guy. At first it was Martin, then

Mindy now him. A realisation hit him! Because shes getting ignored by the leader, shes not getting

any fleshy neck passed her way. She now has to go and fend for herself, and because she hasnt

eaten for a while she is getting very weak. She looked hungry, worn out and very thin.

You alright Mind? Asking with pure concern. She gave him a quick glance, then nodded.

    16/28

Vincent carried on walking beside her, quietly, his mind going blank, he didnt know what to say to

her. After a while, he decided to come straight to the point.

Look, youre not looking well at all. Have you been eating? He carried on looking forward so as to

see himself round the corner that the leader had already gone round.

When Mindy and Vincent turned the corner, they noticed it was a much darker alleyway, with barely

any light to lead the way.

He turned to Mindy, still hoping for a response but she remained silent. They stopped at a deadend. Vincent looked around, confused, waiting for an explanation from the leader. Everything

became clear when the wall in front of them began to move. It slid open revealing a barely lit

    stairway which led downwards.

While most vampires wondered the night filing themselves up on rich, tasty blood, a small amount

    was taken inside the wall.

The leader led the way, followed by five vampires then Mindy and Vincent. A light was lit from some

where up ahead which showed that the walls were grey and cracked in most places with graffiti

which must have been done by vampires in the past. It resembled two men, one bent over

backwards on the other man, who has very long white teeth with red paint dripping from his teeth.

Ahead was an archway which revealed a large open room with about twenty candles crowded in one

    corner.

Who lights all these candles? They all crowded in the middle of the room except for the leader who climbed onto a table

positioned against the wall ahead. He glared down at all his vampires then lifted his arms.

Vincent and Mindy looked round at everyone else, who stood motionless looking up at their leader,

legs parted and hands clutched behind their backs. They copied everyone elses actions so as not to

insult. As soon as they did the leader called out both their names, plus another new vampire. The

three of them walked uneasily to the table, not attempting to climb on the unstable table that

looked too small for all four of them.

The three of them looked up at their master and waited for something else to happen. The leader

looked down at them as if waiting for one of them to say something.

Salvatore, please lay down on this table! He jumped off the table and landed firmly and steadily

on his feet, waiting for the guy to climb onto the table. Salvatore looked at Vincent and Mindy,

looking rather uneasy. He did as his master requested, climbed carefully up onto the unstable tablethen layed down, his feet dangling off one end.

Four of the vampires stepped forward from the centre of the room and left one guy in the middle on

his own, until the leader joined him.

Two walked round to one end and held his feet, the other two went and held his arms. Vincent and

Mindy watched, intrigued, but they wondered what their part was, feeling a shiver climb up and

    down their spines.

Salvatore looked from vampire to vampire, not liking his situation. He watched the last vampire

approach and felt him grasp a handful of hair and pulled his head to one side, revealing his neck.

Salvatore groaned in pain. He heard footsteps approach, then felt the leaders fangs dive into his

flesh. A trickle escaped the vampires lips, letting a trickle of blood flow down Salvatores neck and

from the leaders chin as the leader slurped at the two open holes in Salvatores neck. He wriggled,

trying to free himself from the over powering grip of the others holding him down. He was writhing

with pain. He knew it was pointless trying to wriggle free, there was nothing more he could do to

help himself so he gritted his teeth, closed his eyes and let it happen. A surge of power rushing

through his veins, his body feeling stronger and his face becoming distorted. His face was grotesque

between the changes. Mindy and Vincent watched, horrified and disgusted.

Vincent hated the thought of them being next, it was too much to bare and too much change. He

grabbed Mindy by the arm, snapping her out of the trance and forced her to run with him out of the

dark room into the dark streets and get among a crowd that hopefully might still be about, coming

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    17/28

out of a club. He knew the vampires would find them eventually and at least he might get some help

    to fight them off.

The leader was still sucking on Salvatores neck when they had reached the open. The wall shut

behind them, but they could still hear footsteps echoing from inside.

Vincent still held Mindy by the arm. She was still in a trance from the sight she witnessed by she was

still easy to pull along. He pulled her towards a crowd of people who was making their way, noisily,

out of a club nearby. They mingled in with the crowd who didnt seem to mind, all the boys and girlswere too drunk to care. The crowd turned a corner towards a row of brightly lit shops, the smell of

cooked meat and peppers filled the air, they headed towards the nearest kebab shop. With the

smell of kebab meat in the air, hopefully the vampires wouldnt pick up their scent.

Vincent knew he had to find a way to get rid of them for good, he knew he couldnt drag Mindy

around forever. The leader was trying to make the vampires stronger to turn them into more

powerful ones, then there would be no turning back.

The crowd died down a bit then noticed Vincent trying to bring Mindy back to reality, trying to make

her focus on what was happening now.

Whats up man? Is she had a bit too much to drink? One of the guys came over when he noticed

Mindy not looking so well. A bit wobbly, smelt of alcohol and cigarettes but still well enough to care.

It made the rest of the crowd intrigued.

Vincent looked up at the guy, hoping his vampire instincts wouldnt kick in. He propped Mindyagainst the wall, making sure she didnt slip off the plastic seats and onto the floor.

Well no, shes not drunk but we do need some help! He knew he shouldnt ask for anyoneshelp,

putting them in danger but he needed back up, he knew he couldnt do it alone. But would they

    believe him?

The guy looked at Mindy then back to Vincent, with more concern on his face. Vincent tried to

explain to the guy and his nearby friends about what had been happening to them. At some points

he looked interested but other points he laughed thinking it was all just a big joke and he was just

trying to winde him up. In any case, the man and his friends were at that point in their night that

they were looking for something to do and an adventure like this would do the trick, still not taking

in the risks and danger. Vincent showed them the two small puncture wounds on Mindys neck and

they had already noticed hope pale, unwell and almost dead she looked. They looked round at each

other. We want to help man, but it wont be easy. One of the guys said, even the girls were up for it.

It might be a bit dangerous but I have to figure out how to get rid of them. Have any of you got any

ideas? He waited and looked around, hoping for someone to reply. Suddenly a girl jumped up with

    excitement.

I know! I know! She was waving her hands in the air. Everyone turned to her and smiled.

Well, you said they live in an old house opposite the park, right?

Right. Vincent said back, hoping this wasnt a silly scene she had seen in a spoof film.

Well, we could burn the place down. Some thinking it was a good idea, the blokes more than

anyone but some looked scared because of the trouble they could get into.

What? One of the guys said, he didnt seemed convinced it would work so the girl explained.

You said there was secret passageways below the house, so we sneak in and put explosives as low

into the house as we can then blow them up. She looked proud of herself.

For one thing, how do we get in and get them there? And two, where do we get explosives from?

She looked stumped, she hadnt thought that far ahead.

The last time someone was in that house, they got turned into a vampire. I dont want to risk you

    guys of that!

The girl sat down on one of the red plastic seats. She liked her plan so she continued to think of how

she could get hold of some explosives.

Well, we could make them! One girl spoke out.

This isnt a movie Sally, where are we supposed to get stuff to make explosives?

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    18/28

We could go to the police. Another girl said. She wanted to help but she didnt want to get in

trouble at the same time, or get turned into a vampire.

Dont be daft! They wouldnt believe us! People were starting to take it seriously which made

Vincent a little more convinced they were thinking of plausible ideas.

Sally is right, we have to get explosives, there is no other way. A man named Steve stood up,

looked over to Vincent waiting for his response.

I dont know! Vincent turned to Mindy, who had started to wriggle uncomfortably. Vincent knewexplosives was the most effective idea, but how was this going to be accomplished. There was a lot

of things in the way. How were they all going to get in the house? How were they going to get

explosives from? Could they make they own? Could they pull this off? Or waas he just making

things worse and actually feeding these people to them?

The vampires had returned to the old house, making themselves comfortable in the main hidden

room, low under the house. The more evil vampires had bigger coffins further into the house, in a

little room . Once a year, the once bitten vampires get to turn into more evil ones and this will take

place in a week. Because of the trouble of Vincent and Mindy running away, and time running out

they needed more help. The worry of Vincent and Mindy exposing them was too risky to carry onthe tradition and things had to be rushed. They needed a good days rest of hibernation before

    beginning their hunt.

They had started to rest as the sun appeared through the thin gaps between the large planks of

wood covering the windows. It had disturbed them, so the leader sent out two newer vampires to

fetch more wood from somewhere. Because the newer vampires were still half mortal they were

not affected as badly as those who had just been turned into complete vampires by the leader.

The leader could only go into the sunlight for an hour, two at the most before his skin starts to sizzle,

he had been a vampire for centuries and he could just about mentally control certain things.

The two new vampires collected some wood from the park across the street. The more evil

vampires had locked themselves in their coffins and had now nodded off into a deep sleep.

The two vampires boarded the gaps over the windows before settling themselves in their new beds.

The house had been quiet for most of the day, before noises that were barely identified entered thestill house. Luckily, all the vampires were in a deep trance so it would be unlikely that they could

wake the vampires for the next few days.

Vincent, Mindy and four new friends they made from the kebab shop had their weapons in hand,

waiting for the adventure to begin. Vincent was very thankful that these people stuck by him, even

after the alcohol that night had worn off and they still believed him. Two of the other people from

that night had decided that it wasnt worth risking their lives, but the rest of them, who were up for

anything, thought it was fear that stopped them, they just werent brave enough.

Mindy had stayed outside with one of the other girls, Sally, to keep a watch out. No one would turn

up at 5 am, but in case anyone did they had a whistle to blow for warning Vincent and the three

brave guys that went in with him. Mindy made the point that they wouldnt hear the whistle

because they would be deep in the house in the dingy secret passageways, but Vincent persisted

    that they try it anyway.

They had found fireworks, which hopefully would do the trick. They didnt know where to go when

they entered the house but Vincent could remember some entrances to the secret passageways that

led beneath the house where the vampires lay.

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    19/28

Vincent went first, followed by one tall guy dressed all in black, including a black hat that covered his

    stubbly head, John.

The guy behind him, Billy, was looking rather scared when they entered the first dark passageway.

His friend Marc, followed steadily behind, carrying a rucksack, tightly fitted to his back, which held

plenty of dangerous fireworks that would definitely bring the house down, along with the other bags

Billy, John and Vincent were carrying.

They had worked out a quick plan the night before. They had to be so quiet, as to not wake thevampires that lay ahead. Just because they were in a deep sleep, they could still be disturbed.

Then they worked out the time it would take to get out of the place when the fireworks were lit, that

was when Vincent recalled the window he jumped out of, to get away for Martin and the leader

when he first entered the house to save Mindy. All he had to do was find the room again, before

    attempting to light the fireworks.

The were stalking the house as quietly, but as quickly, as they could, when after fifteen minutes of

searching they finally reached that room with the window but it was now boarded up. They tried to

break the boards away but they could only manage break off splinters, so they had to find another,

easier way before they woke the vampires form their loud bangs about the house.

Another fifteen minutes passed, they found another possible way for them to escape within enough

time after they had lit the fireworks. It was another room further into the house. The room was

small with a little window high up near the ceiling, it took the four of them to figure out how long itwould take to light the fireworks and for all of them to climb out the little window with enough time

to hide, so they wouldnt be injured or caught.

The only way they could do that was to smash the window to make it a few inches bigger before

laying the fireworks about the house. How they were going to sash it quietly was another obstacle.

After a few minutes of thinking about it, they had reached a decision that they would first light the

fireworks then run back as quickly as possible, break the window then rush out.Afew cuts along the

way was a small price to pay. Billy was looking even more scared and even tried to get out of it by

suggesting he would stand with the girls as a lookout, but the guys needed his help, so he knew he

couldnt get out of it now. It was risky but they were willing to try.

We only have one minute from the first lit firework to get out and hide. Are you sure we can do

    it? Billy whispered.

Well have to, there is no other quicker way out, Vincent looked up at the window with doubt. We can look around some more but the vampires room is near and I really want to get out of here

as quick as possible. Vincent finished off. They were in now and there was no turning back, they

couldnt just tiptoe out and forget about everything, worrying that everyone they met might be a

    vampire.

Isnt there another room next door or nearby that we could check out? Marc was very doubtful

about the time with which they had to escape. To light twenty fireworks, run back here, smash the

window and frame then climb out, and it is only just reachable!

We havent got time. John said, in an even louder whisper. He wanted to get started so it could

    finish.

Ssshhh! Vincent held a finger to his lips.

Lets do it! John spoke out, he was definitely feeling the adrenaline of the adventure. John came

dressed all in black and he loved to be part of an adventure, no matter how dangerous. A guy that

watched too many movies and not living a lot in reality.

We cant just rush into it, we really have to think about what were doing. Billy, the cautious one

    added.

Well? Vincent waited for everyone to agree.

If the vampires room is nearby, we could plant the fireworks outside the door and then we will

have time. Marc looked to the guys, trying to think of more options.

Come on then? John couldnt wait for the danger to begin. He started to walk back out the room,

then stopped when he realised no one was following him.

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    20/28

Lets do it! Vincent said, walking towards the more impatient John.

    Thank you. Said John sarcastically.

Vincent walked past John and continued up the hallway towards the vampires room. He stopped

outside the room, bravely peeking inside. All the coffins lids were closed which indicated that the

    vampires were sleeping.

Vincent turned to Billy, Marc and John, then knelt down after taking off his rucksack and started tounload the deadly weapons. The others started to do the same. John seemed more excited at every

firework he pulled out of his rucksack. He was like a child on Christmas morning.

After ten minutes, they had made a line of fireworks in the wall and a couple more on the inside of

the room where the vampires lay, unknowing to the danger and chaos that was about to erupt.

They each pulled out a box of matches, apart from John who was a bit more flash and pulled out a

    zippo lighter.

They only got to light a few of the fireworks when the hissing started, a few vampires from inside the

room. A few bangs echoed through the room, which made Marc jump and knock over a firework he

    had just lit.

They didnt hang around to wait for the vampires to show, they all started to run towards the room

    with the little window.

Half way to the room john announced quietly that they hadnt got anything to break the windowwith. Before anyone could say anything, John had turned back to pick up an unlit firework. He

grabbed the nearest one then quickly turned back before the vampires had time to see where he

was headed. John reached the room where Billy, Marc and Vincent were waiting impatiently.

Hurry up! Marc quivered with panic.

John ran and threw the unlit firework at the window, which smashed loudly.

John started to climb out the window, with Vincent helping him by holding his feet and lifting him

higher. They only had ten more seconds to climb out the window and Billy spent five of them

seconds to climb out after John.

Marc went after Billy, taking less time to get out. They were all outside, except Vincent, who was

left on his own with only two seconds to spare. Johns hand appeared through the window, waiting

for Vincent to grab hold of it then pull himself up. Just as he did so, a long loud bang went off in the

hallway which indicated they were out of time and the first firework had gone and the rest wereabout to follow.

Vincent was half way to the window in a couple of seconds before another firework exploded and

started setting off the unlit ones that they didnt have time to attend to.

Vincent jumped, startled at the loud bangs that echoed through the empty hallways, he had let go of

Johns hand. He reached again for Johns outstretched hand. They had hold of each others wrists

and Vincent struggled to pull himself up. His feet kept slipping off the wall and the adrenaline was

pumping through him and making him very anxious. The walls and the ground started to shake

around him, cobwebs and dust were falling form the ceilinf, bits of plaster were falling form the

    walls.

Finally, Vincent had half his body outside the window, with his feet dangling on the inside. John

pulled him some more with a little help from Billy.

Vincent was now completely out of the window, just in time as the other fireworks began to

explode, and a few bellows and screams from the vampires inside.

Sally and Mindy heard the bangs and knew the boys should be outside by now.

They started to run round the side of the house in search of the others. Mindy scraped her bare legs

on the overgrown bushes abd brambles that surrounded the collapsing house. She didnt dare to

slow down, she still attempted to follow alongside Sally until they fund them.

Billy, John, Marc and Vincent appeared through the tall grass and prickly bushes. They didnt stop to

ask how it went or find out if everyone was okay, they all kept running until they were at the tall

    gates.

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    21/28

There was no other way for them to get out apart from to climb the rusty bars. The exit was round

the other side of the house and they wanted to get as far from the house as possible and not

wanting to risk running round there.

Just as Sally got to the top of the railings, more bangs and thunderous noises surrounded the area

and the roof had started to fall. Sally was now over, with Marc close behind her.

They had all jumped over the other side and started to run further when they heard the sounds of

sirens approaching. They had all hid behind a nearby wall across the road just as red and blue lights filled the streets.

Three police cars screeched to a halt outside the closed gates of the now collapsed house.

Everyone who was nearby come to see what the commotion was about. A crowd had started to

form in the streets. Some of the people still had their dressing gowns wrapping around their

    shivering bodies.

Fireworks were filling the bright, unclouded skies. The lights from the fireworks were barely visible.

As soon as the bangs subsided, the people started chatting amongst themselves to see if anyone

    knew what had happened.

Six neatly dressed police men stood at the gates watching the display. There wasnt much they

could do while fireworks were screeching in every direction.

As soon as the sound of bricks, windows and bangs had stopped they forced the gates open and

wondered among the wreckage.Billy, Marc, John, Sally, Mindy and Vincent didnt wait around for the questions to begin. They all

walked quietly away and un-noticed back to Vincent and Mindys apartment.

It was now 4:50 pm and the action had been shown several times on the news. They all sat around

drinking coffee and eating biscuits, without anyone saying a word for at least an hour, trying to work

out and realise that everything they were seeing they did it.

Is everyone ok now? Anyone hurt? Billy asked, placing his fourth empty mug on the glass table in

front of him.Well, Mindys bleeding. Sally spoke up. Everyone turned to Mindy with concerned eyes.

Are you ok? What happened? Vincent asked, thinking the worst. He got up form his chair on the

other side of the room and knelt down in front of her, inspecting her dried blooded cut on her skin.

Im fine. Its only a couple of grazes.

No its not. Come with me. Vincent pulled Mindy off her chair and led her to the bathroom,

    closing the door behind them.

How did you do this? Vincent asked, concerned of her injury. He grabbed a nearby flannel and

soaked it in warm water. After rinsing it off he pressed it firmly to her cuts.

Ill live. Its only a few cuts from a thorn bush. Mindy replied. After bandaging her cuts he gave

Mindy a hug that was desperately needed.

Whats going to happen to us now? Were still vampires ya know! Mindy sobbed.

I dont know honey, he said, rubbing her back.

Well, Im not hungry for blood just yet, Vincent tried to joke but it made Mindy start to sob even

    more.

Sorry, that wasnt funny! Said Vincent, apologetically.

Im serious. She cried some more. She was now in the terrified stage of crying. She was sniffling

and could barely breathe through her tears.

Vincent hugged her silence for five more minutes before attempting to say anything more that might

    upset her.

  • 8/8/2019 Vampire Kidnapping

    22/28

How many time were you bitten? He asked. He pulled back and retrieved a tissue for her flushed

    face.

Only once, she said, still with fear.

It was by Paul Sherrard, I think!

Whos Paul Sherrard? And what do you mean you think? He asked with more concern.

    Hes the leader. She paused.

And?And Im not sure if it was him.

    Why not?

Because i was unconscious at the time.

So who else could it be? Vincent thought about it, and realised he might know the answer already.

Martin! He knew it as soon as he said his name.

Are we going to be okay now theyre dead?

I hope so. Vincent helped Mindy off the counter and made their way back to the front room.

When they got there, everyone had fallen asleep, so they went to the bedroom.

Vincent couldnt wait to climb into the big double bed, curled up with Mindy in his arms.

After they had both got out of their dirty, bloody smoke smelling clothes they climbed into bed.

Vincent wearing some fresh clean boxer shorts and Mindy in her night shirt. They both snuggled

under the warm sheets and fell asleep straight away.

Vincent woke before Mindy. He gave a stretch, kissed her on the head and forced himself out of bed

to go to the toilet. As soon as his foot was out of the bed he felt the cold instantly. He quickly

jumped out of bed and reached for his thick, blue dressing gown hanging over the chair in the

corner. He noticed it was night time again. There was only the sound of owls hooting in the night

which seemed a bit disturbing. Although, he thought nothing more of it then walked over to the

    bedroom door, open
