The Extremity Vac-Lok Cushion provides reproducible positioning for the arms or legs. It measures 25 x 50cm.

Vac-Lok™ CushionsEasy-to-use, reusable Vac-Lok cushions are designed to meet the challenges of today’s radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging departments. Filled with tiny polystyrene beads, Vac-Lok cushions create a rigid, comfortable cradle around the patient when a vacuum is drawn through the quick-release valve. The quick-release valve is self-sealing.

Vac-Lok cushions are available in two durable finishes, clear urethane and blue nylon - which is reinforced for resistance against punctures. Nylon cushions are also available with indexing for enhanced patient positioning. Both styles of Vac-Lok cushions are washable and reusable for ultimate cost-effectiveness. They are radiotranslucent, almost air equivalent, and available with treatment windows to avoid any possible buildup.

Vacuum Compressors

The Dual Function Vacuum Compressor provides both a vacuum and inflate cycle with a convenient hand control. An optional foot control is available. It is available in either 110 or 220 volt versions

The Single Function Vacuum Compressor is a lower cost alternative. It provides a vacuum cycle only. To re-inflate a Vac-Lok cushion, simply detach the compressor and depress the end of the cushion valve. With the MT-VL-1B-EX the hoses can be switched to provide an inflate cycle.

Head & Neck Vac-Lok™ Cushions

Vac-Lok custom-formed vacuum cushions provide comfortable support of the head and neck as well as the upper shoulders. Filled with tiny polystyrene beads, the cushion forms a rigid mold when a vacuum is pulled. The versatile system can be used to create a patient specific cradle, and is reusable after the patient treatment cycle is complete. Vac-Lok cushions are available in a variety of shapes and sizes in both polyurethane or nylon finishes. The nylon Type-S cushion is indexable.

Custom HeadrestsAccuForm™ Cushions

AccuForm Cushions are ideal for high-precision head and neck treatments when enhanced comfort, stability and repositioning accuracy are key. This soft, cloth-covered pillow is filled with tiny beads coated in water-curable resin. When sprayed with water, the cushion becomes pliable, allowing it to be formed to the patients’s specific anatomical contours, including custom pitch and rise. After a few minutes the cushion forms a rigid, yet comfortable custom mold. The 15 x 20cm cushion is ideal for filling in gaps under a patient’s head and neck on a standard Headrest such as a Silverman while the 20 x 25cm can be used as a stand alone cushion. Single patient use product.

An AccuForm Positioner is also available for indexing an AccuForm cushion to Uni-frame® and Type-S™ baseplates.

PediBoard™ - Cranial-Spinal Axis System

CIVCO’s integrated positioning system for cranial-spinal treatments utilizes a Vac-Lok Cushion (pgs. 55-58) with a special PediBoard™, a Uni-frame® baseplate (pg. 23), Prone Head Holder (pg. 26) and a thermoplastic mask (pgs. 24-25). The all plastic PediBoard accommodates a 3” vinyl cover foam block for torso elevation and spinal alignment. The raised sides capture the Vac-Lok Cushion for easy molding around the body.

Vac-Lok™ Cushions are also an ideal positioning solution for childern of all ages, see pages 55-58 for more information on Vac-Lok Cushions.
