What's included? A customized 'Virtual Branch' website. A collection of digital titles selected by your library / consortium.

How does it work? Browse, check out, and download using a library card … anytime, anywhere! Download to a Windows® or Mac® computer … and popular mobile devices. Transfer to devices like the Apple® iPod and Sony® Reader™. Accessibility features included for the visually impaired.

Each OverDrive partner chooses from …

eBooks: A text-based digital book. EPUB / PDF.

Audiobooks: A recorded reading of a book. WMA / MP3.

Music: A CD that is digitized.

Getting started with OverDrive Advantage

Use your Advantage account to …

Reduce waiting lists: Add more copies of popular titles to reduce waiting lists for patrons at your library.

Create a custom collection: Develop a collection of titles that is not part of your shared collection.

Continued access: Provide access to both the shared collection and the custom collection on the same download website.



Collection Development Order titles online via

OverDrive's Marketplace. It's easy to get started. All you

need is an OverDrive Advantage login for Content Reserve.



Virtual Branch Website If not signed in, users will only see titles available in the shared collection. If signed in, users will see titles available in the shared collection and their library's Advantage collection.Advantage titles display with an Advantage logo, and helpful pop-ups.

Purchase digital titles with the ease and speed of an online bookstore.

It's easy! Add titles to your cart, and submit your purchase order.

Each issue includes information on new releases, must-read titles, and popular best sellers!

Tip 3: Purchase from Suggested Title Lists

No guess work!

Check out 'Shop Now', tab features, and best sellers.

Updated weekly, so check our Suggested Title Lists often!

TIP: Disable pop-up blockers.

Disable pop-up blocker before submitting your purchase order.

Go to: Internet Explorer > Tools > Pop-up Blocker.


Tip 4: Search Smart

Two Options Quick Search: Search by title,

author or ISBN. Advanced Search: Search by award winners,

featured lists, recent releases, publisher, grade level, and more!

Searching for Children's materials?Use subject headings: Juvenile Fiction, Juvenile Nonfiction, and Juvenile Literature.

Selecting multiple formats or subjects?Use the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard to select multiple items in a drop down.

See all new titles that you don't already ownUse the 'On Sale Date' field and select 'Not Yet Purchased' in the 'Status' field.

Download Standing Order Plan (DSOP)

Add best-selling titles automatically.

Save time and effort.

Simplify budget planning.

Holds Manager

Select a holds ratio, monthly budget, frequency, and maximum title limits.

Tailor the plan to fit your needs, and change it anytime.

Holds Manager will order copies of titles for which your library patrons are waiting.

Holds Manager may order content that the consortium owns but that your Advantage account does not own.

STEP 1: Login to Content Reserve

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Go to: www.contentreserve.com.

3. Click the Login tab.

4. Enter your Advantage Login ID / Password.

5. Click 'Login'.

6. In Content Reserve, select the 'Marketplace' tab.

QUICK TIP: If you prefer to purchase titles using the standard collection tools, select the 'Collection' tab.


STEP 2: Browse or search

Browse or search for titles using any of the following options:

Featured Publishers.

Featured Lists.

Shop Now.

Browse by Subject.

Quick Search.

Advanced Search.


STEP 3: Add titles to your cart

1. Enter the number of copies to purchase. Then click 'Update Cart'.

2. Or, select one of the other 'Update' options:

'Edit Cart Units for All Results'.

'Update Cart Units for This Page'.

3. View your cart at anytime by selecting 'View Cart'. Or click the 'View Cart' icon.


STEP 4: Complete your purchase order

To submit your order …

1. Click the 'View Cart' icon.

2. Select 'Edit select list name' to assign a custom name to your purchase order. A naming convention is recommended.

3. Select 'Complete P.O.'

4. Confirm your order – all sales are final.

5. Next, you'll have the option to attach an 'Internal purchase order ID' to your order.

6. Click 'Submit' to send your order to OverDrive.QUICK TIP: From the cart, select 'Create Worksheet' to export your list to Excel for easy printing or to email as an attachment.


STEP 5: Titles become available for download

Once your purchase order is submitted, titles are added to your Virtual Branch website within 24 hours.

Digital Rights Management technology helps protect titles from unlawful sharing. Every digital title has digital rights – or permissions – set by the publisher. The permissions outline what a user can do with the title after download.

Step One: Browse

Browse or search for titles.

Click any cover image to view the details.

Titles owned by the shared collection and Advantage libraries will display. Users will be prompted to sign in to check availability.

Titles owned by Advantage libraries will only be seen if a user is logged in to their account.



If copies are available, a user may add a title to their cart.

If no copies are available, a user may place a hold.

If a hold is placed on an Advantage title, the user will receive the first copy available – either through the consortium or the Advantage library.



Step Two: Check out

1. Open cart.

2. Click 'Proceed to Checkout'.

3. A confirmation page will open.

4. Click 'Confirm check out'.

Titles are ready for download!



Step Three: Download

Click the 'Download' button.

Notes:

Be sure to install the free software if needed.

Download checked out titles at a later time by clicking on 'My Account'.

Enjoy!

After download to a computer, titles can be transferred to a portable device.

Many audio titles can also be burned to CD.
