SEATERRA utilizes different technologies for re-location, sediment clearance and identification of suspicious ob-jects. Our expert service of handling underwater UXO and in particular the detonation of large UXO (UneXploded Ordnance) are based on intense experience gained on nu-merous offshore projects.SeaTerra has successfully carried out professional UXO clearance works in a cost and timely manner enabling our clients a safe installation of foundations and cables without any UXO related delays.

RE-LOCALISATIONIn order to re-localize suspicious objects in a safe and ac-curate way SeaTerra developed and deploys different me-thods. The combination of these methods delivering ma-ximum efficiency.

CLEARANCEThe removal of sediment coverage is necessary in order to identify a target. The following toolbox is used by SeaTerra:

Remote Operated Air Lift (ROAL) ROV incl. Manipulator, Water-Jet and Airlift UXO Divers

DOCUMENTATIONAll sensor information are displayed and recorded in the central control unit. All data is checked by geophysicists, EOD experts, ROV pilots and divers.

IDENTIFICATIONSensor information, video and/or visual check by divers are the base for a safe identification of items. The final clear de-claration of a target is done according to the explosive law (§7 SprengstG) only by a certified offshore UXO supervisor (§20 SprengstG).

DISPOSAL – DETONATIONUXO safe to be moved are recovered (ROV or diver) and transported for disposal on land. SeaTerra has expertise of 65 large scale UXO (bombs, mines, torpedoes) detonations incl. biological scaring of marine mammals, applicable in case of a necessary detonation.

CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE SeaTerra as an accredited UXO clearance company can submit a clearance certificate according the German and German State explosive laws.
