Bring your swimsuit and sunscreen for a day of fun, swimming, water

swings, paddle boats, land and water volleyball, basketball, free food, and

more! The University will provide transportation from the Residence Life

Center and the RFWC to take students to the lake, or drive yourself:

Directions leaving USI: Head west on the Lloyd Expressway (Hwy 62),

travel .5 miles, and turn right onto McDowell Road. At the stop sign, turn

left onto Middle Mt. Vernon Road, and follow it until the road dead-ends

into Posey County Road. Turn right and travel .2 miles. Turn left onto

Middle Mt. Vernon Road, and the lake will be on the right.

Welcome Week officially kicks off with USI Eagle Roundup. The USI Alumni Association and Parents and Families Association invite you and your family to join us for a picnic dinner at the University Center. Take a break from unpacking, grab some barbecue, and meet other new students and graduates. Students are free. Guests are $8 per person.

Multicultural Center College Mentors for Kids (CMFK) is a mentoring program that pairs college

students with elementary students from Culver Elementary School

throughout the school year. Take this opportunity to learn about CMFK

and how you can become a mentor. You'll have a lot of fun meeting some

of CMFK's current members, and you’ll make some great new friends!

of you will meet with your college and then proceed to lunch, while

others will have lunch with faculty and then go to college meetings. Meet

major. Be sure to get your FREE T-SHIRT for attending and wear it at

Convocation to represent your college!

The Block Party has been a Welcome Week tradition for years as USI students

say goodbye to summer and get ready for the first day of classes. It is the

perfect way to spend your last afternoon before college starts. Play some fun

games, and enjoy great music, prizes, and free food! This is a good chance to

make new friends and learn more about the great organizations that sponsor

this amazing event.

NOTE: Vans will run from Newman Hall to the Residence Life Community

Center in the apartments to transport residence hall students to Block Party.

The Kevin Hurley Show has amazed audiences all over the world. Kevin's

unique stage hypnosis, comedy, and magic has been requested by Fortune 500

Companies, Celebrities, Royalty, A former U.S. President, and over 400 college

The Christian Campus Ministry Groups at USI welcome all students to attend a

non-denominational Christian worship service. The event is a great opportunity

for fellowship with members of the USI community.

3-5 p.m. Disc Golf Screaming Eagles Valley Complex (next to O’Bannon Hall)

USI is one of the few universities in the country that has an 18-hole Disc Golf

course. Disc Golf is a cross between throwing a Frisbee and playing golf. The

Screaming Eagles Valley Complex is located near O’Bannon Hall behind

Parking Lot E, so come out and play a round of Disc Golf! Note: Discs can be

checked out from the RFWC or you can use your own.

for their area’s community meeting. Here you will meet the Residence Life

As part of your UNIV 101 course content, you are required to participate

in Eagle Experience: UNIV 101. The program will cover issues facing

college students through large group presentations and small group

discussions. You will have the opportunity to connect with other new

students along with Welcome Week Leaders, AMIGOs, and Resident

Assistants. You are assigned to either the morning or afternoon session

based on your UNIV 101 section number on your fall schedule. See the

schedule below for your assigned time:

Ultimate Frisbee

Teams Ultimate Frisbee is an exciting, non-contact team sport that combines the

best features of soccer, American football, and frisbee throwing. USI has

its own men’s and women’s Ultimate Frisbee club teams which compete

in the Great Lakes region with teams from Notre Dame, Michigan, and

Illinois. Come learn more about the game and USI's teams, and enjoy a

game of Ultimate Frisbee.

Religious Life would like to welcome you with music, sundaes, and fun.

This is an opportunity to meet the Religious Life groups on campus. Ice
