1 Purpose and Scope

1.1 Purpose This document provides an overview and user manual about how to enroll an Apple iOS mo-bile device such as iPhone or iPad into VMware AirWatch. VMware AirWatch is FIT’s Enter-prise Mobility Management („EMM“) solutions. Its purpose is to secure data on mobile de-vices, provide a corporate appstore and give seamless access to FIT’s IT infrastructure. In order to enroll a mobile devices serveral steps need to be taken. The purpose of this document is to guide you step by step.

1.2 Scope The Target of the enrollment process is to bind the your mobile device to VMware AirWatch. It will configure the mobile device (e.g. WiFi, VPN, Passcode) and grant access to the FIT IT infrastructure. The EMM platform VMware AirWatch is soley run by Team Client Services Architecture („CSA“) in FIT Europe.

1.3 Prequisites Before the your mobile device is able to be enrolled into VMware AirWatch it is necessary to meet the following perquisites:

• Your Apple ID (and the corresponding password) must be present. If you don’t own an Apple ID account please create one at https://appleid.apple.com







• it is recommended to have the latest Apple iOS update installed on your mobile de-vice

• at least 1 GB space is available on the mobile device

• battery charge condition is at least 50%

• your windows account is active and not locked

2 Enrolling a mobile device into VMware AirWatch

In order to make the enrollment process as simple and smooth as possible a dedicated mo-bility website has been provided at https://mobility.freudenberg-it.com. It contains important information about mobility at Freudenberg IT with helpful videos for setting up and enrolling mobile devices.

In case you have already setup your device, please move over to chapter 2.2.

2.1 Setting up your device (after unboxing or device wipe) This chapter describes step by step how to setup your mobile device after unboxing or a de-vice wipe (factory reset). If you have already setup your mobile device or know how to do this, please skip this chapter and move over to 2.2.

Make sure that a SIM card is pre-

sent. Without this the activation process at Apple will. If the SIM card is present, you may connect to a WiFi.

Activation be-gins.

Activate location services.

Setup as a new device, if you

don’t own a backup.

Enter your Apple ID.

Accept the terms of use.

Select “Don’t use iCloud”.

Select „Next“. Enter a desired passcode.

Select “Don’t recover

passwords”.

Select „Use Siri“.

Select “Don’t send”.

Your mobile device is now

configured.

2.2 Enrolling into VMware AirWatch To enroll into FIT’s Enterprise Mobility Management system VMware AirWatch, please follow the next steps.

Please open „App Store“

Select search. Next tap on the

search box and enter „airwatch“.

Select from the search result

„airwatch mdm agent“.

Download the App.

After success-fully download-

ing and installing the App, please start the AirWatch App.

Please select „QR Code“.

Scan the QR Code. The QR

Code can be obtained at the FIT mobility website.

Please enter your Windows

account credentials (without the domain fitads01).

Select „Redi-rect & Enable“.

Select „Install“. Enter your passcode, if

asked for.

Select “Install”.

Select “Install” again.

Select “Trust”. Select “Done”. Please enter a desired

passcode for the Air-Watch Agent App. This will be used for Single Sign-On (SSO).

If you receive a popup windows

with the request to install Apps provided by AirWatch, please select „Install“ only if you’re connect to WiFi. Oth-erwise your mobile data plan will be charged.

Your mobile device is now

successfully enrolled.
