Inpharma 1661 - 25 Oct 2008 ■ The US FDA is consolidating drug safety information about prescription drugs for both patients and healthcare professionals at a single access point on its website. Establishing the web page is one of the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration Amendments Act of 2007. The web page provides links to a variety of information including drug-specific safety data (including the latest safety sheets), drug labelling (including patient package inserts), drugs with a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy, a searchable database of postmarketing studies, quarterly reports detailing which drugs are being evaluated for potential safety issues, and consumer information about safe use and disposal of medications.
