Thursday, 17 November 2016 Reminder: Community Workshops Combined Regional Community Strategic Plan Upper Lachlan, Goulburn Mulwaree and Yass Valley Councils are working together to prepare a combined Regional Community Strategic Plan (CSP) under the Local Government Act, to ensure the Region has a stronger voice in State Government decisions on regional planning and funding to ensure the needs and aspirations of these communities are recognised and fulfilled. The community are invited to attend workshop at the following locations, to review and provide input into the draft Regional CSP: • Gunning: Council Chambers, 123 Yass Street, Gunning - Monday, 21 November 2016 from 5.30pm to 7.00pm • Taralga: Masonic Hall, Orchard Street, Taralga - Tuesday, 22 November 2016 from 5.30pm to 7.00pm • Crookwell: Council Chambers, 44 Spring Street, Crookwell - Tuesday, 22 November 2016 from 7.30pm to 9.00pm A community survey is also available via Council’s website: www.upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au until Wednesday, 30 November 2016 so those unable to attend scheduled workshops can provide input into the draft Regional CSP. Volunteer Grants Program The Community Grants Hub, on behalf of the Department of Social Services is inviting organisations and individuals/authorised signatories representing volunteer based community groups to apply for Volunteer Grants 2016 funding. Funding is from $1000 to $5000 and applications close at 2pm on Tuesday, 20 December 2016. Free Green Waste Disposal Council wishes to remind residents that all Upper Lachlan Shire waste facilities accept lawn clippings, leaves and prunnings (less than 5mm diameter) free of charge. These items are to be placed in the designated location, as directed by the attendant. They are not to be discarded in plastic bags, boxes or any other container, or to be placed with other bulky green waste or in general waste areas. This service has been provided to the residents of Upper Lachlan Shire to reduce the volume going to landfill via the garbage collection and to eliminate decomposing green waste building up amongst the bulky green waste and causing mulching equipment malfunctions. Admission is as follows: • Adults: $4 • Children: $3 • Children under 2 years and spectators: Free • School/Sport and Rec Swimming Lesson: $1 (if children remain after lesson, additional $2 charge applies) Season Pass Prices: • Family: $165 • Adult: $100 • Child: $56 When visiting Council’s Swimming Pools, children under the age of 10 years must be supervised by a parent or a responsible guardian over the age of 18 years. Swimming season off with a splash Crookwell Swimming Pool Draft 2017/2018 Operational Plan and Delivery Program Council is calling on community groups and individuals to lodge written submissions for the Draft 2017/2018 Operational Plan and Delivery Program. We are seeking input from the community to help deter- mine project and spending priorities for the 2017/2018 budget financial year. Further information and copies of the Submission Form are available to download from Council’s website: www.upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au/news/ draft-2017/2018-operational-plan-and-delivery-program. Applications must be forwarded to Upper Lachlan Shire Council, PO Box 42, Gunning NSW 2581 or emailed to [email protected] by 4.30pm on Friday, 2 December 2016. Grant funding: Consult Council Please note, if your group is applying for a grant that requires Upper Lachlan Shire Council to be the auspicing body, then you must consult with Council prior to applying for grant funding to ensure it aligns to Council’s current Community Strategic Plan. This applies to all Section 355 Committees and all Community Groups, including not-for-profit groups, charities, schools, playgroups, pre-schools and all other similar groups within the Upper Lachlan Shire.
