From Mrs. Ketterer: These past two weeks, we have been and are celebrating our 4th and 5th grade musical artists at the Band, Strings, and Chorus Concerts! Thank you for supporting your children and for attending and cheering them on! This is happening throughout the building and we appreciate all that you lend in your efforts and presence! As Winter Break arrives, Dr. Via and I want to extend wishes for a joyous and restful holiday season! It is a great time of year to reflect and think ahead! We remain so thankful to be a part of this school community. You all are a gift to us!

Growth Mindset Your children may be coming home and sharing their ideas about their Mindset. We have been encouraging them to reflect on their effort and encouraging them to work hard. Some of our teachers have formed a Mindset Professional Learning Community and are sharing what they are researching and learning with our entire staff and gradually all of our students. This group is going to be sharing their learning and perspectives at our PTA Meeting on Tuesday, January 12th. Come and be part of activity rotations to learn how you can encourage your child to persevere and reach their personal best!

LEO Club Holiday Giving Tree If you’ve visited the school recently, you may have noticed the tree in the foyer with hats, scarves, mittens/gloves, and boots on or around it. This is due to the generosity of our community embracing the wonderful idea our LEO Club students came up with in hopes to bring comfort to some local Howard County families in need. Can you imagine a winter without these basic necessities? BRRRRRRR! You can help support the LEO Club and their project by sending in or dropping off new hats, scarves, mittens/gloves, and boots during through December 23rd. Thank you for your support! Winter Chorus Concert The best way to spread winter cheer is to sing loud for all to hear! The 4th and 5th Grade Chorus students are excited to invite friends and family to attend their annual winter concert! The concert will be performed at Glenelg High School on December 22nd starting at 7:00 PM. This concert is a culminating activity that is a result of many weeks of hard work and preparation.
