UPC RewindBattle of the Bands

More than 500 people gathered on Cater lawn Friday, September 17 to watch six bands perform. Each band brought their own flare that got the crowd on their feet. The judges were SGA President Kurt Sasser, VP for Student Affairs Dr. Carry, Miss Auburn Univer-sity Rebecca Hart and Auburn Idol runner-up Shannon Henderson. Congratulations to Therapy for taking first place for the third consecutive year.

Tiger ManiaEveryone had their hands up when T-Pain came on the stage at Tiger Nights: Tiger Mania Tailgate. More than 5,000 students gathered on the Green Space on Thursday, September 23 to enjoy free food, inflatables, games and live entertainment. The tailgating theme was a huge success that got students excited for the game against the University of South Carolina.

Auburn vs. Mississippi State Live FeedThere was a great turn out for the first UPC live sports feed of the game. Students gathered in the AUSC Ballroom to watch the game on five large projectors. To create a real game day experience students were provided free hot dogs and hamburgers. The event was a success and the students cheered as the Auburn Tigers took home the win.

From The Desk of The Vice President: My name is Julianne Willis and I am the University Program Council Vice President. I would like to take this time to thank all of our members and share how exciting this semester has been so far! We selected new committee members through an application and interview process. They have been working with council members to plan and run our events. The teamwork, between council and committee members, is what makes each UPC event run smoothly. We have held events such as Battle of the Bands, Tiger Nights: Tiger Mania Tailgate, Dinner and Dancing, Dance Crew Showcase, and more. Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to work with many of our members and I can honestly say that all of our events could not be successful without the help of each member of UPC. We will continue to keep up the hard work, and plan great events for the Auburn student body. Please let us know if you have any suggestions by emailing [email protected].
