Elmwood’s 27 holes consist of two great courses, both challenging, fun and easy to walk. The championship 18-hole layout is a classic parkland course, featuring tree-lined fairways, and large, well-bunkered, undulat-ing greens.

Prairie Green was rated one of Golf Digest’s Best New Aff ord-able Courses in 1996 and is currently the highest rated pub-lic course in the region. A prairie links style course designed by Dick Nugent, at Prairie Green players experience gener-ous fairways, stunning prairie wetlands, and well-bunkered greens.

A highly successful collegiate golfer and accomplished instructor, Jenny Coluccio is now in her third season as head coach of the USF men’s and women’s golf programs.

The driven former Drury Panther player was named head coach in July 2010, and immediately began assembling the talent necessary to contend for conference championships and compete at the national level on a yearly basis.

“I believe that each year it is my responsibility to improve as a recruiter, a teacher, a sports psychologist, a motivator and a leader,” said Coluccio. “We must keep up and be on the cutting edge for our student-athletes and our program to make sure that each year we will have an opportunity to win conference championships and fi nish as one of the top programs in the country.”

Since arriving in Sioux Falls, Coluccio has had success in both her work with individuals as well as putting together quality teams.

In the spring of 2011, she led the men’s team to new heights with a second place fi nish in the Great Plains Athletic Con-ference (GPAC) and earned the program’s fi rst-ever trip to the NAIA National Championship. The women’s program also had a strong 2011 campaign, notching a third place GPAC fi nish.

In addition to her team success, individuals have fl ourished under Coluccio’s tutelage, including four 2011 All-GPAC se-lections on the men’s side (Shea Stoltenberg, Troy Klonger-bo, Levi Smith and Kyle Schock) and two from the women’s roster (Kali Gottsleben and Jordan Wilkinson).

While Coluccio is proud of USF’s on-the-fi eld success, she may be more proud of the success her golfers have experi-enced in the classroom. The 2010-11 Cougar men compiled an impressive team grade-point average of 3.2 while the women amassed a team grade-point average of 3.5. Six Cou-gars were included on the Dean’s List (3.5 or better); Davee Johnson, Kali Gottsleben, Troy Klongerbo, Cody Thomsen, Lex Moore and Kyle Schock, who graduated from USF with honors in May 2011.

Coluccio joined the USF athletic department in March 2010 after two seasons as a graduate assistant coach for both golf programs at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D.

During her tenure at DWU, both the men’s and women’s teams claimed the 2008-09 GPAC regular-season championship. In addition, the Lady Tigers made their sixth and seventh NAIA national championship appearance while the men made their fi rst-ever trip to the national tournament.

Coluccio began her collegiate golf career at NCAA D-III Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. She attended Rhodes College for one season and helped the Lynx achieve a No. 15 national ranking before transferring to NCAA Division II Drury University in her hometown of Springfi eld, MO.

Coluccio was a three-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference player for the Drury Panthers. She tallied 12 Top-15 tournament fi nishes for a Panthers squad that was ranked as high as no. 6 in the country during its run to three consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference crowns.

Coluccio led the Panthers to an NCAA D-II West Regional Cham-pionship in 2005 and the program’s fi rst trip to the NCAA DII National Championship in 2007, where the Panthers fi nished fourth.

Coluccio’s golf career has given her the opportunity to travel though out the country while competing in dozens of presti-gious tournaments. She has participated in the Women’s West-ern Amateur, Women’s Trans National Amateur, College Players Tour, Futures Tour Qualifying School and the LPGA Qualifying School, among many others.

She continues to play competitive golf at the local, state and national level. Coluccio is the two-time reigning SDGA Two-Woman Champion and Sioux Falls Women’s City Champion.

Jenny is married to assistant USF golf coach Brett Coluccio. The couple has been married for one year and resides in Sioux Falls.

Brett Coluccio was born and raised in Springfi eld, Missouri. He was a three-sport athlete at Kickapoo High School, with baseball being his strongest sport. Upon graduation, he played one season of baseball at Hendrix College in Conway (Ark.) before suf-fering a career-ending injury.

Coluccio began playing golf at the age of 18 and less than two years later he was a starter for NCAA Division II Southwest Bap-tist University in Bolivar, MO. He later moved his career to Hillsdale College (Mich.) where he studied American history.

His most-recent golf accolades include the 2009 SDGA Two-Man Championship and being named the 1st Alternate for the 2011 USGA Mid-Amateur Championship.

Coluccio began his coaching career at Southwest Baptist, where he served as an assistant baseball coach for two years before moving on to South Dakota and Dakota Wesleyan University in August of 2008. At DWU, Brett was a volunteer assistant golf coach and also worked as an admissions counselor. In July 2010, he left DWU to join his wife, Jenny, and took his current posi-tion as the Assistant Head Coach of the USF Cougar golf program.

Coluccio is completing a bachelor’s degree in history at the University of Sioux Falls. He and Jenny celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary on November 20th, 2011.

In his spare time, Coluccio continues to compete in several local, state and national golf tournaments.

Ryan Jansa is the Technical Swing Advisor for both the USF men’s and women’s golf teams. A Sioux Falls native, Jansa holds the South Dakota state record for the most SDGA state titles in the history of South Dakota. To date, Jansa has amassed 18 SDGA state titles, including seven stroke play victories.

Jansa played collegiately at New Mexico State University (1992-96), where he was a four-year starter and a fi rst team All Big West Conference selection for the Aggies. In 1995, Jansa won the Big West Conference individual champion-ship and the Aggies claimed the Big West team title.

Prior to his start in coaching, Jansa played professional golf for six years and tallied three tournament wins. He is currently employed with the VanBuskirk Companies as a Development Manager and Real Estate Broker Associate.

Jansa holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from New Mexico State University. He and his wife of 15 years, Julie, re-side in Sioux Falls. Julie is the Executive Director of the First Tee of South Dakota and the South Dakota Golf Association Junior Golf Tour.

The couple has two children; a son, Isaak (11) and a daugh-ter, Reese (7). Jansa is actively involved with the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire and the South Dakota Golf Association.

In his spare time, Jansa enjoys playing golf with his family. He continues to compete in several local and national golf tournaments each year.

2010-11: Received GPAC All-Conference Plaudits...recorded season-low rounds of 81 & 82 to claim third at the Palace City Classic...had three top-5 fi nishes on the year: Briar Cliff ’s Frommelt Classic, where Wilkinson shot a 86 for a 4th place fi nish...fi fth place fi nsih in the 1st Annual Prairie Club Shootout...Tied for 15th to help USF take third place in GPAC conference tournament

2009-10: Shot her season-low round of 83 and tied for ninth at the Lady Red Raider Invite...tied for sixth (85-86 171) at the Lady Tigers Fall Invite...tied for eighth (86-88 174) at the Nebraska Wesleyan Spring Invite...participated in all six USF tournament wins and six second-place fi nishes...helped the Cougars place second in the GPAC and earn a berth in the 2010 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships.

2008-09: Had two top-ten fi nishes: tied for seventh (87) at the Dana College Invitational and tied for ninth (90) at the GPAC Qualifi er #3 in Fremont, Neb....tied for 13th (88) at the Hastings College Invitational (Qualifi er #2) and tied for 12th (92) at the Briar Cliff Invitational...contributed to three second-place and three third-place team fi nishes and helped USF earn a berth in the 2009 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships.

Prep: Played soccer and golf for Rock Springs HS...helped the Tigers claim three conference champion-ships and the Wyoming State Golf Championship...garnered all-state and all-conference golf accolades...member of Athletes for Literacy.

Personal: Has one brother, Dallas, and sister-in-law, Sarah...elementary education major...professional goal is to become a fi rst or second grade teacher...SAAC member.

2010-11: Recorded 10 top-10 fi nishes, including one outright victory at the Mt. Marty Invite, where she shot a season-best, fi ve-over par (77)...was named GPAC All-Con-ference...claimed 4th place fi nishes at both the 1st Annual Praire Club Shootout and the Hastings Invite, where she led all USF scorers...fi red a team-low 79, which was fol-lowed by an 85 to capture 5th overall at the Palace City Classic...also saw top-10 fi nishes at Briar Cliff Frommelt Classic (6th place) and Morningside Invite (9th place)

2009-10: Captured her fi rst collegiate victory at the Dana College Invitational with a season-low round of 77 and named the GPAC/Half Mid-American Sports Women’s Golfer of the Week...recorded four additional top-10 fi n-ishes: tied for fourth at the Dakota Wesleyan Invite (79-86 165)...tied for 10th (83-83-84 250) at the GPAC qualifi er #3...tied for sixth (88-84 172) at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite...tied for eighth (92) at the USF Women’s Spring Invite...helped the Cougars notch a 2nd place GPAC fi nish and earn a berth in the 2010 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships.

Prep: Played golf, basketball & volleyball for Watertown HS...named Female Athlete of the Year ...won the 2009 State AA Golf tournament title and helped the Arrows claim the 2009 State AA Basketball title...four-time mem-ber of the South Dakota All-State golf team and three-time member of the South Dakota All-State basketball squad...named Student of the Month...honor roll student.

2010-11: Tallied four top-10 fi nishes during fresh-man campaign...highest fi nish came at Hastings Invite where a round of 88 secured her a tie at 5th place. However, Johnson’s lowest round (85) was recorded at the Mt. Marty Invite where she tied for 7th overall...joined three teammates in top-10 circle at Palace City Classic with 9th place fi nish...tied for 10th at Morning-side Invite...also tied for 24th overall at Upper Iowas’s Cedar Valley Invite.

Prep: Voted team MVP at Burke HS...during her Cougar career, ranked fi rst and second at regionals and third and sixth at the state tournament...selected to All-Star Team...also named to All-State Band and All-State Choir...class valedictorian and member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Daughter of Steve and Karla Johnson...music education major...professional goal is to become a music education teacher...volunteers with campus ministries and leads a church youth group....member of FCA, active in USF band and choir...plays several musical instruments.
