Wabash Valley Unit Scouter of the Year Award

The Wabash Valley District will award up to six Unit Scouter of the Year Awards each year at the Annual

District Recognition Dinner (February). A maximum of three will be given to Cub Scout leaders. A maximum

of two will be given to Boy Scout leaders and a maximum of one will be given to a Venturing leader. Leaders

nominated for this award should be excellent examples to their fellow leaders and the youth in their unit.

This award is designed to be awarded to a unit level leader as follows:

• Each Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troop (including Varsity Teams), and Venturing Crew (including Sea

Scout Ships) may recommend leaders from their unit to be considered for this award.

• The nominated leader has served Scouting for at least 1 year in a registered position in their unit.

• Recommendation must be made by a minimum of two other non-relation unit leaders and/or parents

involved with the unit.

• A leader can be nominated multiple years but may only be given the award one time in each of the three unit

categories. A leader could earn the award as a Cub Scout Leader, a Boy Scout Leader and a Venturing

Leader over a number of years of service.

• Forms must be turned into the Terre Haute Service Center by: February 6th
