Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Background

A detailed background of the company and scenario presented in the task leading to the problem that needs to be addressed.

Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Client Requirements

A list of detail requirements set out by the scenario with a explanation and analysis of each one.

Expand also to include logical assumptions that are not necessarily in the scenario.

Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Benefits to the organisation.

What benefits will the solution have for the organisation. For instance in what way will having a numerical model benefit the organisation.

Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Stakeholders

Who are the interested parties for this task, who is associated with this project? From Project manager to the company to the individual user to competitors. What is their stake in this? How will it affect them.

Talk about these in context of the task and not generically.

Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Project Scope

What is the scope of this project? For instance what areas will you need to go into in order to complete this project? What areas does this project reach into? (research, model development, subject knowledge, programming knowledge etc?) What factors will need to be considered for a project of this scale?Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Timescales

What timescales are you looking at for this project? Are there any particular deadlines that need to be met? What milestones are there? Does certain things need to be completed before other tasks can continue? What are the dependencies and their timescales?

What timescales have been allocated for the subtasks as well as the main tasks.

Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Costs

What costs are involved with the project? Can these be itemised for instance Research, design, development, testing, documentation, installation, material resources, project staff resources, other expenses?Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Roles and responsibilities

What are the roles for each team member? What parts of the project are they responsible for?

NOTE: - Your responsibilities will change in the controlled assessment so this will need to be updated here.Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Project outcomes and objectives.

What are the objectives of the project as a whole? What do you need to do as a team or individually to complete the project? Is there any success criteria you can talk about for this?Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Model outcomes and objectives

Looking now more specifically at the model itself what are the objectives for this?

Can you give specific measurable success criteria for this? What are the input success criteria, the processing success criteria and the output success criteria?

Look again at the requirements and expand on them.

What needs to be delivered at the end to the client?

Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Constraints and Limitations to the project.

What are the limitations you can identify in the project? For instance are there any limitations to the software you are using to develop your model? Will there be any constraints that will hinder the projects development?

What risks are there in the implementation of the project? What threats are their to the system that need to be considered? (Especially when you are using computers and processing data)Unit 5 eProject

Research

ACTUAL RESEARCH CAN BE DONE ON A SEPARATE DOCUMENT.

Reference to the research you have done and the ideas it has given you for how you will implement this system. What conclusions have you drawn from this. This should lead naturally into the proposed solution. (The next section)Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Proposed solution / Technical justification.

What is your proposal for how you are going to meet the requirementsWhat software are you using and whyWhat methods are you going to employ with the software and why link this back to the requirements saying how they might meet them.Technical justification of the software and methods you are going to use. What are your system requirements and why is it adequate for the task.Unit 5 eProject

Break down of items

Other items.

SecurityDiscuss the security implications for your system how are these going to be managedLegalAre there any legal implications that need to be considered?Backup proceduresWhat backup procedures are you going to use for your system?TrainingAre there any training considerations for the staff using the system or the team producing the system.
