The white people made the greatest number of unfair laws. As a result, black people couldn’t vote or choose their leaders. They couldn’t get the jobs they wanted, either. They had to live in the poorest parts of South Africa. Mandela once helped Elias to keep his job, and they shared the same political ideas. When Mandela organized the ANC Youth League, Elias joined it. Besides, he helped Mandela blow up some government buildings. Because their peaceful fighting was not allowed, they had no choice but to answer violence with violence.
