Generally speaking, discharge is the last program for an in-patient in hospitals. It is significant for a nurse to make a discharge plan and do client teaching for a patient who is about to be discharged.

When do you need inpatient services and

when do you need outpatient services?

hospital to have a regular check-up in the outpatient department.

To understand hospital procedures 是不定式在句子中做主语，不定式在句中还可以做表语、宾语、定语、状语和补足语。

Obviously, on the day he is discharged the patient is both excited and worried and the way his discharge is handled can affect the course of his recovery.

What is the difference between emergency admission and pre-

arranged admission?

The admission procedure varies with the condition of the patient in hospital. Many people go into hospital as a result of accidents. They are often seriously ill and in need of immediate care and attention. These are called emergency admissions. Comparably, many people go into hospital due to diseases, which are not acute. These are called pre-arranged admissions.

How to deal with the ward after the patient is discharged?

Firstly, clean the ward:

(a) Remove all disposable materials and personal items such as a toothbrush, etc.

(b) Strip the bed, deposit the linen in a laundry hamper and sent it to central supply to be sterilized.

(c) Remove all that are not disposable equipment from bedside stand such as

sputum cup, bedpan, and take them to the utility room to be sterilized.

(d) Put the blankets, mattresses, backrests and pillows in the sunlight for about six hours.

(e) Air the ward.
