A modern, original and very useful guide to Poland. It helps foreigners in an attractive and easy way to understand Poland and its people, discover fascinationg places recommended by public figures and organisers of cultural activities. Polish Cuisine
Its 208 pages present a consistant, transparent and up-to-date review of the most significant areas of Poland's economic, community and cultural life (8 chapters).
It draws attention to places, people and phenomena which confirm Poland's rich traditions and creativity, modernity and dynamism at the same time.
The Polish Presidency gives an unparalleled opportunity to promote Polish cuisine. One of Poland's leading chefs, Adam Chrząstowski, is monitoring the creation of a selected menu of Polish dishes, based on native products which will be served at high level meetings in Poland and Brussels. Foreign delegations and journalists visiting Poland during the Presidency will also be given a collection of recipes for Polish dishes specially prepared by 16 chefs, including three professionals from outside Poland, who on a daily basis work in some of Poland's leading restaurants. The point of departure is an ingredient commonly associated with Polish cuisine (e.g. herring, cucumber, buckweat groats, poppy seed and venison). Each recipe is preceded by a description of the ingredient, including its cultural context. The publication is enhanced by the addition of modern illustrations.
